I am from Canada. I usually do not write reviews. But I want to share my experience with Dr. Lorin to help people who suffer from Dry eyes. My dry eyes was so serious. I had to use artificial eye drop every 5- 10 minutes . The quality of life became terrible. With Dr.Lorin's treatment, my dry eye symptom has improved 70% . I deeply appreciate his help and hope more people know him and stop suffering from dry eye problem

I had been bothered by the dry eye problem for 10 months. I have seen many doctors and the treatment was just using artificial tears, warm patch and eye drops with steroids. When I stopped the steroid eye drops my eyes are constantly feeling scratched and non-stop tearing. My life is severely impacted by not able to use my vision. Luckily I found Dr. Vogel. After his 1st treatment (out of a series of 4 suggested), I got back to normal which I hadn't feel so comfortably for a long time. Now it had been 3 weeks feeling great that I almost forgot that I have a dry eye problem. I am very pleased with his method and also impressed with his pleasant personality. He is very patient in explaining to me all procedures and my cause of problems. I have to drive 2 hours each way from Irvine to get my treatment but it is definitely worth the time spent. I am under the 2nd treatment period and I believe I found a cure. Thank you, Doctor Vogel.

I’m so grateful to have found Dr. Lorin Vogel at Dry Eyes Los Angeles! After my first visit with him, he provided an in-depth analysis of the root causes for my dry eye problems. While other Ophthalmologists treated these issues with “it could be this or that” Dr. Lorin Vogel took his time to truly assess everything going on with my eyes. I wasn’t treated as just another patient or number, Dr. Lorin Vogel genuinely cared about my eye health and well being. We came up with a game plan for treatment and now several months later I’m in a significantly better place and my dry, irritated eyes have improved immensely! I couldn’t be happier to have found an eye doctor that makes it his mission to improve the patients quality of life! Not to mention he’s an extremely cool, nice guy! If you suffer from MGD, Blepharitis etc. go visit him at Dry Eyes Los Angeles and you’ll be SO glad that you did!

Two thumbs up! I've had dry eyes for decades and severe dry eye since cataract surgery six months ago. Since then I've been working with my ophthalmologist, trying lid and lash hygiene with Avenova (helped some), several different drops to increase tears (made eyes feel sticky and lids itch), punctal plugs (somewhat helpful), and anti-inflammatory drops (somewhat helpful). When I learned that my tears evaporate in 3-4 seconds instead of an expected 10 or so, I understood what I'd been told years ago--that my tears were of "poor quality." There's insufficient oily layer to keep them from evaporating. I began looking for someone to assess whether my mybomium glands might be blocked, and whether demodex mites might be contributing too. I called Dr. Lorin Vogel and got an appointment for the next day. Street parking was easy, the office welcoming, and Dr Vogel excellent. He was patient, he listened, answered my questions, did not rush, and carefully examined my eyelids. He found some collarettes (evidence of demodex), which he treated, and found blocked meibomium glands (40% and 45% lower lids, 50% upper). Those he expressed. He also took a video for me to see that in fact the material coming out of the blocked glands was thick and white instead of clear and fluid, as it should be. It was a relief to see actual evidence of what might have been causing me such aggravation for so long. He also prescribed a higher dose of Omega-3, which I've begun. The next morning my eyes felt better--no stinging, and only an instance or two of sticking in the operated eye, which not surprisingly occurred after a couple of hours on the computer. Today is day 5 since treatment and I feel that my eyes continue to improve. I am hopeful, and will follow up in six months. Regarding cost: Dr Vogel's price to express the meibomium glands is about 1/4th the cost I was quoted at UCLA. Their method is different, a device called LipiFlow, but the objective is the same--to open the glands so the lipids can supply sufficient oily layer to keep my tears from evaporating too fast. How my eyes will feel months from now I must wait and see, but so far I'm happy and feel my visit with Dr Vogel was well worth the investment.

We do not do cataract surgery. You need to talk to a doctor who is a specialist.
Please call the office at 310 208-3011 to get your answer. Thank you
After a complete evaluation of your specific problem we will tell you what your specific issues are and make suggestions based upon your particular problem. Sometimes it is simple and sometimes very complex. In general, we can treat your issues using all the tools that we have at our disposal. We can treat meibomian gland issues as well as dry eye issues due to lack of tears. Sometimes it is a combination of both. The only way to tell is to have an evaluation.
