The tide pools are so cool and it has a pretty small sandy beach. Today it had a poor dead seal so there was a sour smell and a fair amount of flies. I'd still come back to get pictures and hang out for a few hours.

Small beautiful beach! Went at night and early morning, both times were pretty quiet not a lot of people. Saw there were some picnic tables higher up on the beach but stayed closer to the water. Recommendation- Went early morning (6am ish) to get a closer look under the bridge before tide got larger.

The tide pools had an area (not large) without too many seaweed washed up. You can see surfers very close up from the small cliff. The pools were clean, but I expected a larger diversity of creatures, maybe because I was 2 hr before the lowest tide.

What I know, the closest=New Brighton, they have hook ups and tent camping. Reserve here: https://reservecalifornia.com/CaliforniaWebHome/
No dogs are allowed and is enforced. I love dogs. I believe Half Moon Bay has off-leash okay. The beach is called Mavericks named after a dog. Famous big wave spot.
Yes. Average to low grade on beach, but young kids will need supervision near tide pools.
