Hi Regina, Yes, members can submit forms at our Regional Offices during business hours without an appointment. We cannot, however, answer questions or assist in completing the forms without an appointment. For instructions on how to make an appointment, please see our blog post titled, "CalPERS Regional Offices Reopen for Appointments." https://news.calpers.ca.gov/calpers-regional-offices-reopen-to-appointments/ Please let us know if you need any more assistance.

Hi, I am a CALPERS member (GUSD employee) I need to submit the power of attorney form. Can I come to the Glendale regional office? If so what are the working hours. Thanks,

Hi Ara, Unfortunately, our regional offices are currently closed. You may submit your form by mail to: CalPERS Benefit Services Division P.O. Box 942716 Sacramento, CA 94229-2716 We recommend certifying your mail to us so that you're able to receive verification that your form was delivered successfully. Once your power of attorney document has been processed, a confirmation letter will be sent to the address we have on record. The letter will indicate any limitations, depending on the type of power of attorney you have executed. If you have any questions, please give us a call at 888 CalPERS (or 888-225-7377) Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can also visit our Special Power of Attorney webpage to make sure you’re following the proper process: https://www.calpers.ca.gov/page/active-members/retirement-benefits/service-disability-retirement/power-of-attorney Have a great day!

I signed up for Medicare in November 2021. I have received bills from Medicare totaling over $2,000. I understand the the $170 fee for part B, but why am I getting penalized so heavily? I am still working, can I can opt out of Medicare for now?

After I receive my Medicare Card, where do I mail a copy of the card to so Calpers can verify I have completed the Medicard process?

angelo dahlia | Oct 9, 2021
CalPERS Glendale Regional Office | Oct 9, 2021

Hello Angelo, Medicare is a federal health insurance program regulated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). As a member currently enrolled in a CalPERS Medicare health benefits plan, you don't need to provide CalPERS with your new card or MBI number. We will obtain your new Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) number directly from the CMS and update your account. No action is required from you for the transition to the new MBI number. For more information, visit: https://www.calpers.ca.gov/page/retirees/health-and-medicare/medicare For any additional questions, please call our Contact Center during business hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 888 CalPERS (or 888-225-7377).
