Really fun, actually. Haven't been to the drive in's for 5-6 years. I'm thankful we are fortunate enough to have one right here in Sacramento. Love being able to bring your own munchies! The snack bar burned a few months ago but they had food trucks onsite with all kinds of stuff (tacos, bbq, kettle corn, etc). Definitely worth a visit. Just don't go for a movie you really want to "see". The screen can be darker than the theater and vehicle headlights sometimes make it harder to view the movie. Nonetheless it was cool and nostalgic.

I love it here, always such a fun and exciting experience. Staff are decent, movies selections are great and very kid friendly environment. I just hate when people park in front of me, turn their cars around for whatever reason and then have their headlights on still for ridiculously too long. Do you not notice the people you are blinding? You should immediately turn your headlights off once in a parking spot.

That throwback drive-in experience you remember and love. Great place to take kids in the back of a pickup, eat too much popcorn, and enjoy some of Sacramento's amazing summer weather.

Awesome Drive inn experience π Been coming here for years. They have a playground for the kids. They do like a small flea market. Great Popcorn πΏ Large Pretzels with nacho sauce. The employees are super nice!
Total separate line. Almost instant entrance. Get there between 7:30-8 for a prime spot. Watched Thor Saturday & got tickets online. Arrived at 7:30. Parked dead center about 6 rows back and it was perfect. Walked over to food trucks and vendors to kill time. The Mexican food truck was bomb tacos. Even a "drive in" special price. Have fun!
It depends on the screen. The ones closest to the entrance are harder to see. But it has to do with the the lights that surround the drive in. As well as people not turning their lights off.
If I run out of gas.will they give me some to make it to gas station

They do not serve beer. But lots of good drinks, coffee, icees, hot chocolate, soda, etc. Lots of people just bring theyre own beer and discreetly drink. π
Yes, they are open. You stay outside to order while wearing a mask. I suggest ordering through their app FanFood that way you don't have to stand in VERY long lines. They will notify you when your order is ready to be picked up.
Not sure if it is a live video concert (call or visit website), but the radio quality is dependent on your system; the strength of the signal is strong and sounded great through our stereo. Video on screen was good too. π
Hi Marisela, I'm a frequent visitor of Westwind DI and we actually just went to see It last night: me my 15 year old, 11 and 10. I pulled up said two adults and two kids and they didn't give us any problem. I'd say you're good to go.
If its a new movie around 7 to 7:30 and bring something to entertain yourself or partake in the venders, theres usually a few & theres also a play area for the kids.
Hi guys do you think screen #1 is always dark?.I been watching many movies here, but it seems dark on this screen.
Can the Mgr do so.thing a out it please?
$8 for most, Tuesdays is family night and admission is $5.50. Children ages 5-11 are $1.75, little ones 4 yrs old and under are free. There's a play area for the younger ones, arrive early- let them run and play, feed them and bed them down in the back when the movie begins at dark- then settle in to enjoy the movie while knowing that the kids are safe. Altogether it's a lot of fun for the family.
How early on the weekends should you arrive? Do big vehicles park in the back rows?

No, the smoke would become a huge problem if everyone did it so they banned it. But I seen lots of pizza's and ice coolers. So you can bring your own food. But NO grill.
The rules in front of the drive in say no, but I see people violate those rules all the time. I think a grill might be a little too obvious to ignore however.
No, unfortunately, there is not. They give you a lot appointed radio station to tune into when you tell them which movie you're wanting to see. If you like the nostalgic feel, plus... the fact that you can basically get to watch 2~3 movies for the price of one, then this is the place for you. If you're planning on becoming a return customer, I'd suggest that you write down every lot's station that you watch a movie on. That way... you'll have them beforehand, whenever you go watch a movie.
It works for me. Enjoy.
Dang. That sucks. And is it nice at west wind ive never been there but i think my lady has been there before. And how much are the snacks? What kinds of munchies?
Whats the earliest you can arrive? When do gates open?
Mishell Griffin | Sep 5, 2018
M Mum | Sep 5, 2018
They open the gates 1 hour before the shows start, and the start time right now is 8:50pm for the early shows. The times change as it gets dark earlier.
They charge by per adults per car! There is a base rate for adults & children under a certain age are free, I think it's 10 or 12yrs of age. But I still think it's reasonable considering the mess that has to be cleaned up after everyone leaves!
Its a good idea to shop for your drive-in goodies at your favorite stores like Walmart, 99cent Only Store, Dollar General or WinCo, etc. The fun part of going to a drive-in is spending money and eating their food and of course watching the movie(s). So be prepared no matter what your choice is because you will definately have to spend your money.
Car speakers or a portable radio can be used. They tell you what radio station to use to get the sound for the movie you ate watching. It is a FM station.
No it is a drive-in and not like one of the expensive theaters that everyone else goes too. This is a place where i only find to be the least expensive and for the family. But you can always call for info on gift cards.
I didn't see any there. That's not to say you can't. I would recommend calling and inquiring with customer service. Number is located on their homepage. Big lot, so possibly.
We have a Minnie Winnie. Can we bring it and park in the back?

I've never seen an RV. However, If you would like to try ,don't do it on tues. Fri. Or sat. It is extremely busy and packed to the limit. There is plenty of room in the back on the other days. I cain't see why they would say no. I would try it!
Depends on not only the movie but what time of year and day of the week. Attendance is much higher in the summer and fall ...i would say 30-45 minutes on average. If your going on a free movie night or a Tuesday i would go at least an hour ahead because its discount day.
The movies geared towards children are usually pretty good when it comes to behaving the more adult movies tend to have a few loud people and a few people smoking weed
