What a beautiful, perfect location for a wedding and garden reception! Working with event planner Jennifer Villatoro was wonderful - from initial tour and options discussion to the wedding and reception nearly 1 year later. We appreciated her constant communication, time to answer questions, and accommodations for any possible changes. Effingham had multiple outdoor ceremony and reception options, and an indoor option if the weather did not cooperate. But the day was perfect. Effingham staff were so friendly and helpful to our wedding party, vendors, and guests. The day could not have been more perfect! We've been here many times before, and hosted another successful event inside the event center, and will be back again. I always enjoy visiting Effingham Manor it offers top notch wine and service. For history buffs there’s plenty to explore as the Manor House dates back to 1767. If you’re a wine lover do yourself a favor and stop in. I recommend trying their Tannat wine! FYI this an adults only no pets winery.

Returned to Effingham w a couple friends to take advantage of the early spring weather. It was a little breezy and we were happy to see several fire pits lit up. After ordering 3 bottles of wine, we pulled up some chairs by the outdoor fireplace. The pits and fireplace are self serve with no signs indicating otherwise. I am a grown 50 yo man and don't believe I have ever been lectured by a woman for anything, and certainly for having too much wood in a fireplace that the "firebox can not support". Startled, we apologized. Not 5 mins later, a man comes out to comment on the fire, and sarcastically suggests we order more wine to supplement the cost and use of his firewood. 5 mins later, a different man comes out to offer HIS commentary. Seriously? We couldn't even sit in peace after being disrespected the first time. Here's an idea: if you don't want your patrons handling the wood, place a sign. Here's a better idea: how about utilize good customer service, tend to the wood for us, use

We always have a great relaxing time and the wine is always great. Wish they would consistently have a food truck or something on the grill. Highly recommend!
