Came back to Silver Eagle a couple of years ago. At first, we were pleasantly surprised at the barn's renaissance. But over the last year or so it's gone off the rails (note that almost every good review here is at least a year old). There's an obvious disregard for the safety of the horses. Broken fences that go unfixed for weeks (and horses escaping through them). Poor or no communication about highly contagious diseases (strangles). Deceptive and aloof management (in fact, when it was brought to the management's attention that horses were getting through the fence - adjacent to a 45-50 mph road! - they brushed it off with, "it's only horse yoga"). Dangerously large herd sizes. Double charging boarders for facility use. It's sad, since Silver Eagle showed so much potential for awhile. If you're looking for a place to board your horse, be wary of this barn. Notice that the owner's response doesn't address any of the issues. It's only a comment on me. We were and are not "disgruntled". Disappointed with the change in quality and integrity? Yep. But not disgruntled. He didn't say if they repaired the fence (they haven't); he didn't say if they reduced the herd sizes to safe levels (they haven't). Nothing related to horse care. Please take that into consideration when reading this review. Addendum: After being away from Silver Eagle for several months, I have strong circumstantial and 2nd hand evidence that they were not administering medicine to my horse. One of my horses that had trouble walking, couldn't be ridden, and was unable to lift his hooves for the farrier while boarded at Silver Eagle is now completely back to normal. This change occurred within 2 weeks of transferring from Silver Eagle, when we brought him to a barn that gave him his daily medicine.

Such a welcoming place. They treat you like family there. We scheduled a photoshoot for my sons first birthday. They set it all up exactly how we envisioned it. Thank you! We will def be back.

I boarded my horse here for about a year before I moved out of town and they took fantastic care of my horse! I never once had a complaint and she was always very well looked after when I was gone for long periods of time. I highly recommend this place if you're looking in the DC metro area.
