This hike is a great alternative to the over popular AT I-70 foot bridge hike. The trail is well maintained and steep for about a mile before it intersects with the AT. It follows Black Rock Creek and just before reaching the top there is a nice flowing spring to cool of at. The parking area is small fitting roughly 15 cars but hey that also means less people if you're looking for more quiet less traveled hike. Be sure to check out Black Rock view 1/2 mile more of the AT once you reach the top.

Little known stage coach road up the creek to the ruins of the Black Rock Hotel (Pogo), where there's a terrific spring. Another half mile to the overlook, very windy--don't want to camp there.

Beautiful place to hike! amazing nature... lots of different mushrooms, some very poisonous. I recommend the hike for sure! I would only take pics of the foliage, like I said, some are very poisonous.

First bit of the trail isn't super well marked, so it's easy to wander off the wrong way. After that, it's big ups and a nice sweat to get to a stunning view at Black Rock. Totally worth it.

Go to the end of the road..( White Oak Rd) there's a small gravel road and parking area near the start of the trail
