Used to be a beautiful golf course. Now it's an overgrown golf course with the old paved cart paths around all 18 holes used as walking trails. River access is available as well. There is a gazebo, think its first come first serve! Busy place in the summer time.

Wonderful park! Interesting features include the revegetated (with native plants) golfcourse, the Cool Spring Battlefield, the Shenandoah River with small tributaries, and easy walking thanks to extensive paved trails. Warning access road has many potholes and is in poor shape.

A wonderful place for a picnic by the river, a bike ride along with old golf cart tracks or a place to put the canoes in. My dog loves it too. The blue bells are a sea of thousands and thousands in early April. This place is a family favorite and is good for the soul.

Wow. It was quite pristine. The trail is a really nice one to walk and leads you to the AT (Appalachian Trail) that's a most beautiful one. Great surroundings and lots to see if you take the time to go slow and notice all around you. I highly recommend this place to visit.

The short, but pithole-rich access road might give you a few $$ worth of suspension wear & tear, otherwise free.
Yes, there are trees, fields and water, definitely has snakes. I saw a snake skin when I was there as well.
Yes, it's a great a t place for dogs and don't forget to bring a towel and stop at one of many river access points.
