The rooms were okay, nothing fancy but clean enough. In the morning the staff was straight up rude. The free breakfast was disappointing, like still mid-pandemic level sad. I went outside to smoke a cigarette and they followed me out to ask if I had checked out yet... at 8:30 in the morning. We requested a noon checkout, which was not a problem when we checked in. At 10:55 I received a call to the room asking why we hadn't checked out yet. We have stayed at many Days Inns, so I know what to expect. I am not expecting 5 star resort level service. What I am not expecting is for them to make it seem like an imposition that I decided to stay at their hotel. That's fine. I will not make that mistake again.

Positive: Clean room, friendly, helpful staff and convenient diner 2 doors away. Read reviews about being harassed about staying for extra nights and we were asked once. When we explained we had plans we were never asked again Doing a great job in the gardens.

Please confirm your total lodging cost before checking out or you may be met with unpleasant wallet-ripping surprises. The mistake that I made was to have assumed that I was being transferred to a nonsmoker room for the same cost. I had a nice experience here 2 years ago and thought it would be the same this time...but I was wrong. Very disappointing customer experience...

Editing this review after my credit card was overcharged with no clear justification. Please confirm your total lodging cost on checking out or you may be met with unpleasant wallet-ripping surprises. I assumed that I was being transferred to a nonsmoker room for the same cost. Well, service desk was supposed to point out any changes and get my approval before proceeding, but they didn't. Safest thing to do maybe is pay for your booking beforehand 🤦
