Sylvan has been a great partner in our child's learning journey. Challenging yet fun, their curriculum and instructors instill both competence and confidence, while keeping learning enjoyable, even at the end of a full day of school (which says a lot). A bit pricey, but worth it.

Such a wonderful place! We have been a Sylvan family for two years now. My daughter started taking tutoring classes for math when she was 7, in first grade. She loved it from day one. Her confidence soared! The teachers work with her to make sure she not only understands and masters the basic skills at her own pace, but they are always flexible and make sure she gets help with the work she’s doing in her classroom. I can’t be more happy with Castro Valley’s Sylvan. They have exceeded my hopes. They are all amazing teachers. When schools closed and we began to shelter in place, Sylvan immediately rolled out a one-on-one class for students to keep up with their online studies. I am so grateful. It’s not easy teaching from home but having Sylvan’s help has been the thing that I can count on. My daughter has developed a relationship with her teacher that’s so beautiful to witness. It has flourished these past couple months. Sylvan is the best academic decision we’ve made for our young learner. It’s been a game changer for her. She loves math now and especially loves Miss Monica, her regular teacher. All the teachers are great. I’ve never heard anything but praises from my girl after every class Ever grateful!!! We have been with Sylvan for a year now and have been so impressed with the progress our daughter has made. The teachers continue to make lessons fun and challenging. We love receiving the progress reports and the communication with the center is incredible. They have been very flexible as of late with scheduling changes and continuing online tutoring. Highly recommend.

My son started with Sylvan last School year with reading. They brought him up to grade level pretty quickly. We had a pretty rough year with his teacher last school year and the staff at Sylvan went out of there way for my son to know how proud they were of his achievements, and I am really thankful to the tutors and director(s) for that. He is now doing there writing program to help improve his writing skills. We have noticed that he has so much confidence now in reading and writing. He really likes going to Sylvan and it is one of the best choices we made to enroll him at Sylvan.
