what an amazing hike! Hiking uphill and in caves is a challenge but it was def a lot of fun! bring sunscreen, lots of water, and good sneakers!

Very cool cave that is easily accessible from the Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Trailhead. From the parking lot, the cave is approximately 1 mile away, making it a 2 mile round trip. It is a little slippery/smooth climbing up into the cave, so bring shoes with good grip. Also a light would be useful if you plan to go all the way back into the cave. I didn't go in because pigeons had called it their home and started to coo loudly when got near the back of the cave. The view from the opening is beautiful.

Short hike and beautiful view. Great spot for couples, family and friends. Recommend! You can just park in the neighborhood and I love the neighborhood there🤣

Convienent to get to from the parking lot. My first time rock climbing. Last rock was a bit difficult getting over. It's doable getting up and down from the cave. There is a trusty rope to hold on to. Surprised it was strong enough to support my weight lol. Start from the victory trail to atleast get a good work out.

There is only parking along vanowen near the parks sign. Otherwise yous have to park near the intersection or outside someone's home. I suggest getting there early or an hour before sundown. There is more parking available then right on vanowen
It's is very strep. There are moments which I had to go on all my 4. I wouldn't recommend you take anything heavy. Comfortable shoes with a good grip are needed.
You have to make a right turn toward the hill after the small grove about .6 miles along the trail. That trail will lead you to the mouth of the cave whre you can scramble in https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/cave-munits-to-castle-peak?p=-1
Wouldn't recommend it if you plan on climbing the cave itself. Too rugged and steep for a doggo to safely ascend. But the surrounding area is great for a pupper.
