So close to home yet you feel far away. Great escape and great view of the lake.

It's a wonderful RV Park with extremely hard working and helpful Park employees. I see a lot of people catching fish and having a really great time. An amazing amount of wildlife there's a lot of ground squirrels and chipmunks which has brought in Hawks eagles falcons owls that are there feed on the squirrels. Between pelicans and ducks and Canadian geese it's a bird lovers paradise. It's shameful the park has let it sprinklers get in such disrepair I remember the park used to be like a golf course now it's more like a desert in the camping area. But they're under new management and their promising to get the sprinklers fixed and do some grass seeding next spring. Back when RV Park was built it was built with Half of the RV sites sewer water and electricity hookups on the wrong side of where you park your RV very inconvenient hopefully someday they'll fix that. It would also be nice if they have a small fence in area with your small dogs.

We camped in a motorhome
Nice park, but it was windy
Note if you when you book your site the electic are on the left side of your pull out/site (site numbers are neven) the other sites ( odd site numbers) will put your steps on the road

This is an excellent regional park with a rather large admission fee. It costs $10 per car to enter and use the park, however it is very well kept and beautiful around the lakes. You can also rent paddle boats for $12 per adult for each hour, which is very relaxing to be out on the water. The water is not natural and thus is very dirty and full of algae. There are fish in the water, and fishing is also allowed here but I am sure you may need a license to do it. All of the park staff are super friendly and willing to help. Prado is an excellent place for a picnic (large or small) and to enjoy an afternoon/evening with family!
It is very open and you don't have to connect with anyone unless necessary. We kept our mask on us just in case but we didn't have to wear them with our own family.
Yes it is open, what did we do? We got masks, social distancing and gatherings by household. Play it as safe as you can and as comfortable as you feel.
They don't sell state licences but you must have one. They charge their own fee for fishing permits. You may get a ranger who is lax about state license, but very seldom.
That I'm not sure. Your best bet is to look 👀 the website up online. I'm sure they have the hours of operation listed. When I go, I just go camping 🏕 usually coming in on a Friday at check-in around 2-3pm (sometimes 1:30pm) and checkout on Sunday at 11:00 or 11:30am...
Can you swim

I've never seen anyone swim in the lake, only boats. I've also, never seen signs saying no swimming. Sorry I couldn't directly answer your question.
Dose anyone know if you can use a kayak on this lake?

Yes, the following excerpt is from their website.
Prado Regional Park lake is open to electric trolling rowboats, kayaks and canoes.
NOTE: Rowboats, kayak and canoes are not available for rental.
PEDAL BOATS
The pedal boats are operated by Pedal Port. For pricing or more information, visit pedalport.biz

Is $10 if you are going to fish plus I believe $15 for parking for $60 you could get year round parking pass
How to get a season pass for fishing ,I go ever weekend and I have to pay 20 $

I think you should check with the staff 20 is too much. The site says $10 per day per person no age limit and $12 on weekends starting Friday Saturday Sunday. Annual passes is still a question but they do sell them you might check with front gate.
Do they allow RC boats on the lake?
Electic battery power?

That I'm not sure of you might have to look up their website and look at the park regulations they should have all the information on there I was there for Mother's Day and they did have the fire pits open so I don't see why you can't
I was there 3 weeks ago and the water was green and dirty and sludgy the water has cyanobacteria bad. Some spots were like chili. Worst lake I've ever seen with the bacteria. I think it'll be closed at least another month or two.
Gross...that lake has SO much bacteria in it...I wouldnt eat any fish from there...
Can you run rc boats

I think so. Just not right now. Bad bacterial problem. I was there 2 weeks ago and no swimming and no fishing. Prado Regional Park:
Due to high levels of cyanobacteria at Prado Regional Park lake there will be no fishing and boating allowed until further notice. Please follow the posted notice. Debido a los altos niveles de cianobacterias en el lago de Prado Parque Regional, la pesca y la navegacion no estan permitidas hasta nuevo aviso. Noticia aqui.
I don't think so. I believe they placed signs reading 'No Fishing' but I was distracted most of the time. I would ask the park ranger when you get a chance
From my understanding, it's $40.00 per night for both camping grounds (RV & Tent trailer/Tent). I'm not sure if I can include a link that may be helpful to you regarding fees, etc. I'll paste it and see if it shows: http://www.californiasbestcamping.com/angeles/prado.html
As of recent, yes and no. Yes, you may anticipate a line of vehicles (most visitor entry is via vehicle given the slight remote location) if it is on, or near, a holiday; more over, during the spring time, summer, or hosted events by the park, anticipation takes a back seat and I'd like to note that that is when you should expect a line. The Entrance driveway can hold approximately 20-30 vehicles (including RVs). I've visited this park for the past 30 years. Hope this info is helpful.
I made a reservation over the phone the day of for the cheapest tent camping near a rest room. It was indeed 40 dollars, plus another 7 dollars for the reservation itself to be made before getting there.
Sort of. Not big on "trails" but it is a great place to walk. There is a path that goes around the lake. Dogs are welcomed there is camping as well. Also has a playground for the wee ones!
Only if you have a rigid board, and only if they have stocked the water with fish. They do not allow Inflatable paddleboards (or inflatable anything) on the water, and you are not allowed to do more than look at the water if they haven't stocked it with fish; which they have not done yet, and have not decided on a date that they will.
When we were there, the park was clean. Try to reserve the higher spot number. The lower numbers get announcements from the women's correctional facility. We liked it because it was 5 miles from our grandchildren.
Lake is in the process of refilling after repairs and is almost to normal levels. If there are any fish, they would probably be down by the dam as that was the only location that maintained water during the repairs, to the best of my knkwledge.
At the moment, probably not all that great. The lake was drained in the spring and was just recently refilled (almost to filled) and has a LOT of grass and plants underwater that grew during the lakebed repairs.
