I've been wanting to try this Russian place for a while, And I'm glad I finally got to. I seen the bread with the cheese in the middle and they add a raw egg into the hot cheese and stir it quickly right from the table. It was so delicious. They had several different dumplings that we tried and they were also very very good. My main dish I got the stroganoff with the pasta, but I should have gone with the traditional mashed potatoes for preference. The pear soda was unique but tasted really good. All in all if you want to try something new then I recommend this place.

I’m so glad I found this place! Their food was authentic and super delicious!! First time I had borscht was when I went to Russia a few years ago. I fell in love with the soup! But I couldn’t find it anywhere in So Cal. So when I found Pomegranate and saw that they serve the soup, I just had to try it out. And I’m so glad I did! We also ordered the salad sampler, cabbage roll, medovik, and a couple other things. Everything was super delicious, and the service was fantastic! Definitely recommend!!

My first time visiting a Russian restaurant. The place had personility and good vibe to it. It seems to be a popular destination. There were two large party, it can get quite loud. The uniqueness of this place is you are allowed to stamp your name on the wall. + Good atmosphere + Good for larger group + Unique food and drinks + Qwearky place

Pomegranate is the type of restaurant that’s so good that you keep it a secret from people who might not be deserving of it. Atmosphere There’s Russian everywhere. It feels authentic and charming and there’s a coziness to it. My girlfriend brought me here - only after a series of trials and tests, and I can see why. We sat outside, where there are string lights and they put a candle on the table. The flicker of the lights off of your date’s eyes along with the incredible food will make this the perfect date spot. Parking Admittedly a little tricky. Street parking is the only option and it can take a few minutes to find something, but it’s worth it. Food Obviously this is why you’re reading this review. We got the khachapuri to start. This bready, cheesy beauty will be the subject of your dreams from the moment you try it. If everyone in the world could take a bite of it at once, humanity would probably reach enlightenment. For mains, we got the chakapuli and the chicken shashlik. They were both amazing but I liked the shashlik a little more. Both came with rice, which was great. Last, we got the Babushka’s Surprise for dessert. The apple was so soft and the ice cream was simple but good. Drinks I got a Russian pilsner because it felt right. The lady got a basil martini, which tasted kind of like an alcoholic green smoothie, but in the best way possible. Service Great. Attentive but not too attentive. Lots of knowledge about the menu. Recommend? Duh. But don’t tell just anyone about this place. It’s that special.

Hello, no, we have a restaurant, people have dinner
Yes!
Hi James, Thank you for contacting us. It’s not a problem at all, though some kids a sensitive to noise and restaurant does get pretty loud on weekends usually from 6:30-8:30. And it might take a bit longer for us to serve the food during this time as well. Hope this helps Dimitri
They have two large rooms and can accommodate large parties I'm sure (20+ would not be an issue in terms of space for them, so it's just a matter of making a reservation)
A walk in is fine
Yes
This location's only other spot was 2 doors down on the corner. They moved into this location a few years ago and have been there since. The other Pomegranate in Golden Hill was started by the former co-owner of this location after he left this location. I've only been there once and they're not the same IMO.
It's a nice restaurant Go next door to Gillys Lots of screens, the go over and have terrific food next door,
Just a few tables out front, and yes dogs are ok if they don't bother other guests. If its barking, they could ask you to leave.
