Brookside Nature Center is nestled up to Wheaton Regional Park & Brookside Gardens, making it a wonderful day trip of exploration. The BNC has a learning center, Homestead, ponds & trails that make for a wonderful place to learn, relax and reconnect to one of the county's gems.

nice place, recommend visit.autumn you can see all colors of tree, and I wait for winter and day after snow ,is wonderful.

Although the nature center is not currently open, there are miles of well-maintained trails nearby. All the trails are clearly marked. They are all well-shaded, so they're perfect for summer hiking. My favorite part is the historical homestead nearby.Judy - thanks for visiting - glad you enjoy the trails. We look forward to welcoming you back inside the nature center when our renovations are complete.

How long is the hiking trail loop?

Inside the botanical garden there is a 1-mile heart Smart trail. It is a wide black asphalt trail with one tenth of a mile brass markers in the ground.
