Awesome experience driving thru a tree, a must do while driving on the 101. Itβs a $5 fee to enter which is less than a Venti drink at your coffee shop! We had this place to our selfs at time we entered on a Friday afternoon 7.29.22. Kids are still talking about when we drove thru a big tree π².

There is something fascinating about these giant beautiful trees and even more fascinating is being able to drive your vehicle through it. There is a is a $5.00 fee to drive thru the redwood tree. The lady taking the fees was very friendly and kind- she has been doing this job for 34 years. Amazing. Is it worth it? We thought so.

I see some reviews saying it is free. It is NOT free, but it was just $5. It may have no one at the booth and it is a trust system that you pay into the slot. I only had one other group in front of me and so was able to enjoy it at my leisure. A great tree and pretty much something you *must* do in the Redwoods - drive through at least ONE tree.

FREE! Yes it was free and worth the stop before you head into the Redwoods. Letβs you have an idea what your going to see. We was the only ones there so we drove through it a couple of times and could take as much time as we wanted and that was in the morning. A Kia Soul had tons of room if that gives you an idea for size for your vehicle.

Not sure exactly but we have a town and country Chrysler mimi van and it fit with about 2 to 3 inches on both sides to clear it and yes had to fold in side mirrors π but super fun you must experience it π
If you walk up to the tree yes, not up at the tree. Is barely enough room for a big pickup truck to turn around
The carved tunnel is 7.33 feet wide and 9.5 feet tall -- our Jeep Gladiator is about 6 and a 1/4 feet wide. Find the specs for your vehicle and compare.
Yes, it is still alive. I've heard that the tree was struck by lightning, and the owner of the property just cleaned it up a bit to allow cars to drive through it.
I believe it was $5 and you take your own pics.
Idk there wasn't anyone in there when we went
