Totally awesome place to stay, re ok ax, hike, and fish. Camp hosts are super nice and toilets are the cleanest, best stocked, and best smelling composting toilets I've ever encountered on my many months of travel.

Beautiful camping spots right on the South Platte River. $22 a night with no amenities except an outhouse (pretty nice though...considering), limited shade, and a very nice camp host.

Wednesdays are usually really open very good chances!
They are open. You need to reserve online.
$22 per night.
We had to make reservations in advance. We also were told by the host they are booked through the month. Going on line is your best bet.

Try 11 mile state park. They will have full hookups. Not too far away.
