Came here after reading about it on Reddit. It's been here for at least 10 years and long ago had really cheap prices. Costs have certainly increased overtime and so has their menu but it was still good food. We sat inside and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The restaurant is located upstairs so it may not be accessible to everyone. Glad to have come here once but because of the price increases not sure if I would return. Still good food though.

THE BEST CHINESE FOOD!!! I don’t think I can say enough for Hong Kong Clay Pot! The wait is absolutely worth it! We went for dinner and waited on the steep stairs. If you have a hard time with stairs, this may be a place to have someone pick up and bring to you! It’s such a ‘whole in the wall” in the midst of China Town. As you go up the stairs you wait for someone to seat you. There are big round table and many little 4tops. We were sat on one side of a big round table with another family on the other side. We ordered spring rolls and potstickers for appetizers. We had sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, and a curry dish. These were spectacular! We ordered a Beef Noodle dish from seeing it on the wall and when it arrived it was NOT what was expected. So passed on eating it and ordered Chicken Fried rice. It came out quickly and was amazing! (Most of their chicken is all white meat!) They do not split bills, so if you are coming with a big group, bring cash or be ready to Venmo the paying friend. I have saved this place on my Google map and CAN’T wait to go back!

Excellent food. This is my go to place in Chinatown. I went on back-to-back nights for dinner and the second time I ordered the following with a clleague: Curry Chicken, Catfish in Soy Sauce, Mongolian Beef with Prawns, and Chicken Chowmein. All were excellent. This place gets very busy fir dinner, and there is limited seating space, so plan accordingly. But the servers and service is great. Will definitely revist.

Fantastic food and very good service. It's on a second floor. Great prices. One of the best places in Chinatown. Lack of decor but that's fine because the food is 4 stars.

Yes, this restaurant is only closed on Wednesdays. I recommend to arrive right when they open, because it's small place.

Very nice staff, great authentic Chinese food at good prices. The portions were generous.Long flight of stairs to get into dinning area. Worth the climb. Just be careful where you park. After dinner we went to our rental. The window was smashed out and items were taken. Parking garage is the best in San Francisco.
