If I could give them zero stars, I would. Let me start with my fiancé has lived almost a year and both of us are mature professionals. I agree with the previous review about the communication. Since, Doug has been here they are not responsive to requests/emails to terminate lease early, move to larger apartment or our complaints about people being parked in our over priced parking spot in an unsecured garage. However, they can email about complaints of our parking when we were not even town for two weeks and car was parked at the airport. We originally wanted to move to a larger unit and my fiancé viewed the place and he was quoted $1895, when I looked at the place next day and informed them we would like to start process to transfer we were told we had to give 30 days notice and the rent now would be close to $2,100. This was only after multiple emails to Doug to find out the mysterious "process". The unit still remains empty after 2 months and there are now a total of three 2 bedroom units available. I called, again to find out what rent would be for the unit. I was told I would receive a quote shortly and that would only be good for 48 hours. The quote showed up in email at end of business day, there by leaving me 24 hours to decide. I can go online and get quote in minutes. They tell you can transfer to another unit, but that is leads you to believe there is a simple process. There is not, you must give 30 days notice, pay escalated rent on new apartment, pay deposit on new apartment, pay for breaking original lease and wait for deposit from original unit. We can easily afford the ridiculous rent here, but we can go two block down road and pay essentially the same price and have far better amenities with a balcony, a view, far superior gym and secured parking that is easier park vehicles, less expensive with spots for visitors. Not to mention the constant broken glass in alley, which is your only access to parking garage. Since, we only needed to live downtown for a little more than year longer, it would of been nice to not have to hire movers and go through moving buildings but the management company's would rather you leave in order to dramatically increase rent. I will also say, this is pet friendly place and it shows. Management is not responsible for pet owner animals, but understand the common areas around the elevators are not always pleasant experience. We twice have had foul smell in our apartment, last 4 months. Once we put in maintenance ticket and it was handled efficiently, they second time I could hear them doing something in unit above and smell went away. My understanding, in talking with other tenants, this is common occurrence. The ability to timely communicate with staff has decreased and definitely get the sense they are guarded with any communications and when you push for direct conversations or questions, they avoid and push it off. Considering there are more buildings continuing to be built in close proximity with better amenities, I do not feel the rent is justified and the business practices of management boarder on immoral. There has been flood they tried to pass the expense onto the tenants, we found out from several former tenants. We carry insurance for personal belongings, but passing through costs of maintenance issue disguised fees seems unethical. I do not mind paying high rent, they are allowed to capitalize on market, but they have absolutely no desire to keep tenants longer than original lease. Unfortunately Roundhouse management runs most properties around Boise, you might get better on-site staff (if they stay), but you are still dealing with the business practices & ethics of Roundhouse. Culture in business comes from top down. If you choose to live here, do not plan on calling it home or staying longer than original lease. The Fowler is nothing more than an overpriced temporary place to sleep, if you do not have choice.

These apartments are in a great location. Close to lots of good restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, etc. Love the gym and the fact that i cant hear my neighbors around me because the walls are so thick. The only thing is i wish there were more outdoor/community amenities like a bigger courtyard, a pool, hot tub, or game room.

I’ve been living here almost a year, and while these apartments are pricey, this is one of the instances where you get what you pay for. The location is great, and just about anything you need whether it be groceries or entertainment are within walking distance. It’s also helpful that my office and the university campus are within walking distance. The office and maintenance staff are also very friendly and very attentive to whatever you need, and they’ve been EXTREMELY patient with my dog who is very skittish around other people. The apartments themselves are also quite nice, and all of the appliances work as they should. Overall, I would say this is a really good place to live, and all of the amenities and location make it well worth the price, especially where I’ve paid more for far worse locations in the past.

I have found The Fowler to be a great apartment community! The staff here is wonderful and have always been very attentive to my needs. In real estate location is everything and The Fowler’s location is ideal. I can walk to many great restaurants and entertainment venues. The Fowler offers many amenities such as a first class gym, picnic area, and barbecue area to name a few. I would recommend The Fowler to anyone looking for an apartment in downtown Boise.
