H&R Roofing was the best choice I could've made for a roofing job. Cost was fair, they were professional, punctual, worked hard and cleaned up when they were done. My job was complicated - I had to decide to repair slate or replace it. Robbie, the project manager helped me to decide to remove a very old slate roof (over 150 years). Under that was a cedar shingle roof so they needed to remove it all and install plywood on the whole roof and then install a new asphalt roof. They also removed a lower asphalt shingle roof and installed a metal roof and a skylight. This was another decision - rubber or metal. Each job was done by a different crew and both crews knew their stuff. It looks beautiful and I couldn't be happier. Robbie, the project manager went above and beyond as I had a lot of questions and he answered all of them, didn't pressure me to buy/upgrade, provided pictures and other houses to look at and references. I also had gutters installed and this crew also did a fantastic job. I highly recommend H&R Roofing for your roofing needs!

10 STARS!! BRILLIANT CREW….I live in Fitchburg. Originally I had a slate roof which is old and flat roof that was leaking. Since this was a major project, I wanted a company that I can trust and do the job properly. My house is over 100 years old. I had 5 quotes from different roofers and most of them are dodgy. Most are overpriced and some are sketchy. I called H&R to provide me a quote. Chris came and examined my roof and then provided me with a decent price. He was not a pushy salesman or something. Unlike other roofers who wanted me to decide on the spot. He gave me space to think about the project. I did my research- I checked the BBB website, the google review, Homeadvisor, AngelsList, Thumbtrack and even Yelp reviews. All review websites have 5 stars but I did not stop there. I even asked Chris if he could provide me addresses near me that they did roofing lately and he gladly provided it to me. Finally, decided to go with H&R. I made the best decision ever. These guys are professional, trustworthy, very detailed with their work and they know exactly what they’re doing. The crew were hardworking. The crew came and did my slope roof and flat roof for 2 days. The third day was my gutters. Chris was always at the site while the guys were doing the roof and gutters to ensure everything is good. Ronaldo came as well (I think he is the owner of the company). They were all hands on. They even cleaned up each day and made sure that there’s no scraps on the ground. These guys are excellent. I have a brand new roof and gutters made to perfection. I am extremely happy with their work. Don’t bother with other contractors, I HIGHLY recommend H&R. They are the best.

The job went as expected - High Quality in every aspect. Quoting was done by Dan and was prompt, informative and competitive. Dan was outstanding to work with. He is knowledgeable of the products and materials to be used. Dan was extremely responsive in all aspects - from detailed quoting to scheduling and delivery of services to communications and accessibility. The roofing materials was delivered the day before the job and the dumpster was dropped off that morning before work started. The roofers showed up on time and immediately started working. They are an extremely hard-working team; everyone knows what their part of the process and just does it. It was obvious that the installers are seasoned professionals, paying attention to details. It was clear that they take pride in their work. The job was done is a day which means that the driveway and yard was picked up and returned in the state that it was found in. Dan was there to check in and answer any questions during the install. Overall, extremely pleased with the process and results. Thank you, Dan and the whole H&R Team. The roof looks great and I know it will be in place for many, many years to come.

It is not. The felt you mention is an integral part of a roofing system and the only opportunity to replace it is during a tear off. The savings that you could potentially have upfront by “reusing” the felt will compromise the integrity and longevity of your roof.
A roof’s energy efficiency goes beyond the color of the shingles selected. While It is a fact that dark asphalt shingles get warmer under direct sunlight, the efficiency of your roof also depends on other factors such as insulation and ventilation. We are always monitoring weather conditions and most of our roofing projects are finished within a day or two. If we experience unexpected weather while doing a job, we wil take all necessary measures to guarantee the integrity of your home
In general, we do not recommend a layover. In Massachusetts, roofing contractors can only do layover if the roof currently has a single layer. In our experience, the upfront savings of a layover never outweigh the impact it has on the roof’s longevity.
