It wasn't a bad meal, just over-hyped in my opinion. We had heard about this place a few times and tried it out. The view is perfect as it's right across the street from the beach. When we went in around 4pm there wasn't a line which was great. However the prices were a bit high in my opinion. We ordered the large fried calamari (which was $25+) and what came out wasn't exactly worth the money. The food did come out very quick and was fresh but didn't really have a taste/flavor to it. Like I said it wasn't BAD but I was kinda expecting more considering so many people told us to go here.

This place gets VERY busy in the summer and during peak hours so be warned! That being said the staff is always friendly but it is very low key dining. You can sit inside or outside. Soft drinks, napkins, utensils and condiments are self serve. You also throw your own trash away. I can recommend the fired clams with fries and slaw, philly cheese steak, and my favorite being the Souvlaki on pita (chicken) which was both tasty and massive. The popcorn shrimp was alright but would not order again. You can also buy alcohol here.

I have been eating at the Clam Box for over 30 years. They fill your plate with seafood to the point where it's enough to feed 2 people! The food was always fresh, hot and delicious! Well, since I've moved out of state I only get to eat here once every couple of years. Today was one of those days. Excited as always to eat here I arrived todsy asking for clam strips and shrimp with fries. The cashier was friendly and the food came out quick and hot. When I got home and opened my box, to my surprise, I came to the conclusion that I just paid $30 for French fries! 3 shrimp and a palm full of clam strips. Disappointed is not even close to how I felt. I use to Love this place? But I heard that they were under new management and things have drastically changed. I guess the rumor was correct and unfortunately, I will never return to my old favorite seafood spot again. Good luck.

Stepping into The Clam Box is like stepping into the "good old days" old people always talk about. You get the feeling this place hasn't really changed in the past couple of years, but in a good way. They've stayed true to what they are, which is a great place to grab something to eat during a day at the beach. Food is uncomplicated but tasty, and service is friendly. Seats are clean, views are great, and there is little to distract you from your family or friends or whoever you're with, outside of your phones. Still, if you're ever on Wollaston Beach, be sure to stop by and relax for a bit.

Closed for the winter. See Clam Box website.
This year is a March 2nd opening date. I hope to see you guys there to start the season.
Yes
They just opened Friday and of course I had to visit.. it is Lent. 6ft. apart for Social Distancing, must wear a mask and you can only sit at marked seas to eat. Best fresh fish & Shrimp (2 Way as it's known) If it was warm outside, you would be able to sit outside and enjoy the view.
Yes.
Yes they open
They opened this week, but subject to weather. Call it a soft opening. This time of year, you should call ahead. Call the Clam Box, directly.
They are both excellent. If you feel like something liter go fo the crab roll. If you feel like something more like comfort food I would try the clams.
