I have had nothing but professional and exceptional grooming service from Dirty Paws. Cheri has been my groomer since we moved to the area in 2018. We have 2 Yorkies and she keeps them looking "show" quality.

The Mad River Valley is very fortunate to have a grooming shop that is available for local residents and it's visitors. I lived in the Valley for many years and understand how hard it can be to find a convenient, reliable service you can trust. During my last visit I was impressed that the dogs were not kept in crates waiting to be groomed. Exceptions are dogs that don't like other dogs, fragile or older dogs that may need to be protected. Cheri provides a friendly, comfortable environment for the pets and is a very knowledgeable, compassionate groomer. I highly recommend Dirty Paws Pet Spa.

I have been bringing my two rescue standard poodles to Cheri for 10 years. The dogs and I have only ever had great experiences with Cheri. One of our dogs had serious emotional trauma from being an abused puppy mill breeding female. She is now elderly and has dementia and still gets nothing but the gentlest and kindest care. I highly recommend Dirty Paws!

Update I cannot respond to an owner's response so will update. I have indeed been a customer of dirty paws pet spa, having had three of my yellow labs groomed there, my Australian shepherd, as well as foster dogs! It is unfortunate that she has forgotten that. I took in an abandoned beagle that was brought to their store that they were going to leave in the shop for the night. I kindly responded to the owners pleas on social media to help, took in the dog, and gave both her and her partner dinner to go from my house. I took the beagle in because I could not imagine a dog having been thrown from a car, rescued, only to be left alone in a closed business for the night. I do not believe that is even legal. The owner did tell me at the time when I asked about it that she does it "all the time". In addition, I paid fully for the rescued dog that I still have happily in my home. At the time, I was told by the owner that she paid $250 for the dog, not $400 as she states, and that if I could give her that, she would be happy. I never expected to get a dog for free and never would. My issue as I succinctly stated was hers and her partners behavior of screaming at me so much that I had to call the police. And a friend as witness encouraged, demanded that I should involve the police for my own safety. My review of this horrible practice stands. I give zero stars, negative stars! Once again, this person kept a dog from a customer under false pretenses. She had given a dog to a woman who worked for her, and later when the woman brought this dog in for grooming Cheri wouldn't return her, effectively repossessing the dog she gave her. She was angry and handled the dog in question very roughly.  How little regard for this poor pup, using it as currency and showing it no affection, just grabbing it literally from their arms and throwing it in the back. I got a 'rescue' from her three years ago.  I put that in quotes because she makes money from these dogs.  I paid her half of her $250 fee.  Mind you, no spaying, no vaccinations were covered in her fee.  She had picked up the dog a few days prior.  Did NO background check, no owner intro period, just dumped her and took the money.  I paid her half and agreed to give her the rest the next weekend.  She called and said if I took a dog she was sitting for the weekend it would cover the rest.  I agreed.  She wouldn't give me the owners name and number and downplayed the dogs problems, including incontinence and severe anxiety. Because of this and their history, when Matt came to pick up the dog, I said I wanted a document of adoption completed saying my dog was mine.  I had written it up and all he needed to do was sign.  He objected then signed it.  Within ten minutes she called me screaming that she was coming to my house and was going to take my dog away from me.   Matt returned to my house very angry, threatening me, wanting the paper back immediately.  I had a friend witnessing this and had the phone in my hand, saying 9..1... to him as I dialed.  He screamed obscenities and threatened to take my dog again, slammed into his truck, sprayed gravel all over my property as he sped down my drive and the road. Fortunately I had called the state police and asked for advice.  They had assured me I had every right to the dog and tips on how to manage them if they came back. I regret not making it public then, but I have seen them do it over and over and now must let people know. Stay away from these despicable people! She may know how to groom a pet, but is a terrible human being and maipulates people and their animals.

How much to wash & dry a 25lb dog?

It completely depends on what breed the dog is. A 25 pound beagle is much different than a 25 pound doodle.
