AVOID- DR. NOVOTNY HAS DESTROYED THE PRACTICE. I had been going to the same mental health clinic in Manchester, New Hampshire for 16+ years, from age 14/15. I've had maybe three or four doctors through that clinic before Dr. Novotny. All of them were wonderful and understanding people who hhelped me enormously over the years. Then my previous psychiatrist left the clinic and Novotny joined the practice. I have never been so attacked by a mental health professional. The very first appointment with her, she outright accused me of being addicted to more than one of my medications, some of which are not prescribed by psychiatrists (so it really wasn't any of her business- not her area of expertise, so she shouldn't have a professional opinion). When I told her that was absolutely untrue and not one of my previous psychiatrists had ever raised that concern with me, she had the gall to lie and say my previous psychiatrist had written this in his notes. I've since requested and received all my records from the clinic, nowhere does it say that any of my psychiatrists have been concerned that I was potentially abusing or otherwise misusing my medication. She went on to continue to accuse me of having a substance abuse problem and say other demeaning, abusive and confrontational things, despite the fact that I have been diagnosed with ODD and panic attacks and it's known (in my notes from previous previous psychiatrists) authority figures are a trigger to activate those disorders to become acutely symptomatic- and it did. I didn't have the best behavior that day, but I'd argue that she was disgustingly unprofessional. I went on to be stuck seeing her for about 18 months, as the pandemic began shortly after that visit and it was impossible to find another physician. During that time, she had completely changed nearly all my medications, taking me off some, putting me on others and reducing the dosage of a medication that I've been on since age 17. I've had the same mental health medications for over five years before this. This had the result of worsening my depression, worsened auditory, visual and tactile hallucinations, suicidal thoughts, extreme anxiety, renewed PTSD symptoms, and psychotic episodes. I've since been able to find another wonderful psychiatrist at a different facility. I did not want to write about what happened to me online until I had secured a new psychiatrist for fear of retribution. But the damage has been done, and I plan on going to the hospital for a voluntary commitment because my mental state has suffered intensely. If you've been referred to her, ask to be referred elsewhere. She's terrible with mentally ill patients and she was rude and abusive towards my family members who contacted her because they were concerned about my mental health. I don't know what her problem is, but I don't think she's a competent psychiatrist. If you notice, the reviews on this facility were good until two years ago. That's when Novotny became the main (and then the only) doctor at the practice. Other than her, there are only nurse practitioners that have to do what she tells them too. I've heard other horror stories worse than mine from her current and ex-patients. Avoid like the plague.

DO NOT GO HERE. ESPECIALLY VETERANS. Google forced me to give them 1 star. There is so much I've seen and experienced at this place that is downright appalling! Counselors hanging up on you in times of crisis, discussing one thing at an appt and having one of these clowns tell my insurance Co. Something TOTALLY different, causing my entire, nearly a year long, short term disability claim to get denied, denying medications against doctor's orders, misdiagnosises, incorrect medication, does NOT listen, people behind the front counter casually gossiping about patients after phone calls, I now know a patient's name, age, diagnosis, and that he fell off the wagon after 32 years sober! I have had several of the staff there say to my face "we are not equipped to handle you" I CONTINUOUSLY try to complain and they block me from speaking to anyone higher. They don't address my complaints and do not respond to me. This is a freaking MENTAL HEALTH FACILITY. ACT LIKE IT! You don't take it seriously at all. MELISSA, PATTY ROCCO, PAMELA DELPOZO-WALDREN(I Know you're retiring soon but) ARE YOU LISTENING!?!?!?!? Like I said earlier: ***VETERANS STAY CLEAR!!!*** USMC VET IRAQ 🇮🇶 07, 08, 09 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 ***Anyone, FEEL FREE TO REACH OUT***

Mental health is just as important, if not more important than physical health. The staff at this location has been very helpful. They do have limited services but they WILL point you in the right direction and help as much as they can. I have been there for a few months and they are trying to get me the help I need, even making calls for me to get into different drs not affiliated in anyway with there own practice insurance group, they are still helping. Don't get discouraged if your looking for help. You can do it. Keep making those calls and showing up. Good mental health is possible!!!!

Speak to someone in HR at the Elliot hospital or the office manager at Elliot behavioral health. Her name is Melissa Brule. Good luck.
They do prescribe medication, just avoid Novotny.
