We lived at Hickory Creek Park in a Motorhome for 13 nights in Dec of 2021! :) •Pros: Super spacious site (21) -- we felt like we had a part of the lake all to ourselves. This park is super close to DFW airport, so of course, there is air noise, but other than that it was pretty quiet! •Cons: The shore was super dirty! Some of our family came out one day and we decided to glove up & ended up filling three trash bags! •Highlights: We loved the beautiful sunrise and sunset views. One of our beach chairs stayed on the shore our entire stay. Nice spot for those who need to fly -- DFW airport is 20-30 min away! •Furbabies Review: Cookies (our dog) loved morning naps on the shore. •Our recommendations: Please introduce recycling to your facility! The Earth will thank you. Thank y'all for having us! We're off Livin' the Dream with Cookies & Cream. :)

Not a bad campground. Lake front, few sites are long enough for 40' coaches. Convenient trash dumpsters not very far from any spot in camp. Bath house available, fishing available, but didn't catch any fish in December. Lake looked low and shallow. Fish are likely in deeper waters where it's a bit warmer than the surface temps. No sewer hookups. Not sure if only water and electric warrant the $30 off-season price tag. However, this is in close proximity to the "D"; Dallas/Ft Worth area in terms of RVers. May be worth it for some to go a couple hrs north to Lake Murray, OK for full hookups, lake front, better fishing and less crowded for the same price.

This was our first time to Hickory Creek. The park is very well kept in good condition. The sites have plenty of room between other guests. The picture is our view from site 80. The site is nice and private with a wooden area on one side of …

Yes just tell the gate attendant what site and the last name. We have family visit us out there all the time.
The gates are locked until 6 AM. Check in is 3 pm.
No. You have to have a tent or Rv!
Check your length. Some are shorter. But all are pretty good shape #48. & 91 are great spots
No because you and anyone coming would have to pay, to get in the park.
Really just depends if the spot is available check in time is 3 i believe
Its not a day use park. There's a gate house and you need to have a campsite to enter. Campsite rates are at recreation.gov
Gate closes at 10 pm. Can't come and go after that. We take two cars so we can leave one inside the gate if we go out late. We leave the other car outside and get it in the morning.
I'm not sure they have cabins. Fort Richardson State Park has cabins.
Recently left there and prices were the same
Yes you need a license to fish 13 and up. You can get your license and bait at Walmart. One stop for both
As far as I know, all COE properties have the same camping rules, which require moving every 14 days. It's to allow fair access for others the kind of sites they may require like those convenient for handicapped near restrooms, and so on.
2 week max on staying. About $28 a day last time we stayed unless you have a senior pass which is cheaper.
