This area is so calm and beautiful. They recently stocked it w 1100 fish, so it's a great sport here. Also lots of kayaks, paddle boards, etc. Ppl are respectful and quiet. First check to find out if there is a fire ban in place. Call Chaffee County Sheriff

What a great place to visit for some day time fishing or overnight camping wonderful location and beautiful setting. The camp host is very helpful and maintains the area to the highest standard. Clean restroom and water is available. No cell phone reception in camping area. The road can be a little rough in some places. Located about 6 miles from pave Road.

A gem for water sports without motors. Amazing trout...you can see them in schools! Small lake with lots of waterfront sites and some day use. I docked the rating one star due to the annoying OHV traffic, especially the non-camping lookie-loos.

We loved this campground and lake! Nice clean water with beautiful hills and mountains in the background. This small lake is perfect for paddle boarding, kayaking, and fishing without the loud sounds of big boat motors. You can also swim here unlike most lakes in Colorado. Camp hosts, Renee and Ron, were awesome. We camped at site 12 at the western end and they routinely checked up on us to ensure our needs were met. They gave us a parking pass to use at other locations in the area and some free night crawler bait for fishing. Clean organized campground with pristine vault toilets. My family and I really enjoyed the experience. We will definitely return in the future. While site #12 seemed remote, we had some folks enter/exit the trail through our site a few times.

There was not a ban couple weeks ago, as long as you used the metal fire pit in the camp site. No fires allowed at any of the dispersed camping sites outside the official campground.
We had Verizon service from the north side of the lake. Good excuse for a short walk!
There are no showers at the campground...
Season runs from May to October. Elevation is about 9,200 ft.
5 miles to poncha springs, another 3 up poncha pass to the turn off... then prob 3 miles up the dirt road. well worth the time
Not sure how late into the fall they take reservations. They stop taking them at some point.
