What a beautiful place! The wildflowers are everywhere - more columbine than I have ever seen even on a hiking trail! The lake is not large but great to relax and paddle around. Campground hosts take excellent care & you aren't afraid to go into the restrooms. You can see how close the 2020 fire came to the lake and the campground but the serene, beauty of the area makes it a wonderful place to visit.

Great campground and the lake is a gem. I stayed in site #20. The couple in the spot closest to me played their music too loud at night (dinner time ish, not late) and that was really the only downside. …

Oh wow. Can't express how much we love this place. So beautiful. If you love the mountains, the woods and love to fish or paddle/kayak. This is it. Camphost is super friendly, the campsites are amazing and we just can't wait to come back

Campsites are well spaced out with plenty of shade and privacy provided by the trees. The camp hosts were super friendly. The only minus is that the bathrooms and water hydrants are closed due to maintenance needed.

We were just in Bellaire last week, pay to stay hookups. I think I saw some spots close to Bellaire that you just pull up and camp, not sure if they are free. All the spots in the campground looked to be reserved when we were there, but atleast it was open
2 pm check in 1 pm check out
It is definitely closed at the moment there are firefighters using it for a staging area
No they currently are not, only in campsites with fire rings
I used my kayak and saw a man in a canoe. No swimming allowed.
No off-road vehicles are permitted to be ridden or unloaded within the Bellaire Lake, Dowdy Lake, or Westlake campgrounds or day use.
Facilities are in full function till September 20th, 2020, unless notified a change has been made by the Forestry Department.
You'll have to call the campground host to see if anyone has canceled. We're trying to do the same thing!
Swimming is not permitted. However kayaks are permitted.
There are three campgrounds within a mile of Bellaire Lake on the Manhattan road that you can camp with a tent a camper or whichever you wish

I haven't checked out the records yet but the last day for reservations is usually Labor Day weekend Memorial Day is Labor Day. If it shows the day before Labor Day is open it should be able to be reserved. And I would not wait cuz someone could snap it up. But if that day is not set for reservation and you are the last one in the campsite you don't have to leave that site. The days after Labor Day are all walk ins. People that have reserved campsites and are still there at First Choice on that site as a walk in as long as they haven't left. My phone kind of screwed that answer up didn't mean to say Labor day is Memorial Day. We were just talking about end of season holiday
Frankly most people clean their fish right there at the shore Edge which would explain why we have so many crawdads
So far no one has turned a wallet into the camp host.
Hi I'm the campground manager of Bellaire Lake Campground . I have daily reports of the reservations for this site. For the next 3 weeks from Friday night Sunday afternoon it's packed. Although the campgrounds are filled quite a bit the best days that might still be open are Tuesdays and Wednesday's. My reports show there are still days that may be reserved in the next couple of weeks. If we receive cancellations we open those sites up on a first-come-first-serve basis
I am the manager of Bellaire Campground and we do not have any showers. In Red Feather Lakes Village there are some inns that may have showers.
Bellaire lake is open year-round for fishing, but the Gates are locked from about early October to May of the following year. That presents you with about a two-mile hike from County Road 69 to the lake. The gates were unlocked May 24th this year for the season.
Bellaire day fees for picnicking and fishing are $6. For camping it varies. Single sites for $29, double sites are $58 and triple sites are $87. This Campground has 5 non-electric sites and for single sites they are $22. For the one double site it is $44. If you have a golden age or national park pass the single sites are $18 for the electric and the non-electric sites are $11. I am the camp host and these prices are this year's and they are correct.
