Hopefully they replace a lot of the staff to go with the new building. They need more people friendly employees with social skills. A staff that's more than willing to be helpful to somebody with a question. A staff that appreciates their job.

Beautiful library in modern style. This is your must-have. It is a two-story building with two entrances. You can park your car both in the parking lot behind the library and on the street in front of the main entrance. There is a Tesla charger in the parking lot. The second floor is for children and teenagers. There are computers, separate study rooms, a toilet, and a vending machine with snacks and drinks. Books are just cosmic. I am very sorry that I did not have such books in my childhood 😭 Enjoy!

Super friendly and helpful staff! There's a guy named Pete who you can tell really loves his job. Beautiful library with an awesome remodel!

Gigantic building, but the space is not used well. Tons of empty rooms. The children's library is nice and there is a neat teen library, but no teens were using it. Could use more space for the Children and Families. Really it is a Family library area where parents can read and pick books with your kids. The main floor is nice, but not as warm as the upstairs. The shelves are not in yet and they have old wooden carts. No maker space yet and no information on it. We shall see where the library goes in months to come.

Yes. There is a small lot behind the library and on-street metered/kiosk parking.
We are planning on opening in the new building in late October. The initial timeline was for an opening in September so we are hopeful that there will be no delays. The best sites to check for information are www.medfordpubliclibraryfoundation.org and our own website: www.medfordlibrary.org. You'll be able to see images taken during construction, view blueprints, and take a virtual walk through the new building.
The Medford Public Library is not currently fining for overdue materials, and we don't plan to resume until we have moved into our new building in the fall of this year. At that time maximum fines on Adult and Young Adult books, magazines, and CDs will be $5.00 per item. Children's books, magazines and CDs max out at $3.00 per item. All DVDs carry a maximum fine of $15.00 and museum passes carry a maximum fine of $30.00. Any item that is more than 30 days overdue is assumed to be lost (by our network computer system) and will be billed at a replacement cost, which varies per item. Once those materials are returned they would be fined at that item's maximum charge.
Friends of Medford Public Library. Bring the books to the back stairs (outside) of the library. Someone will check and bring them in.
Sorry, we do not.
Yes, we do! See --> http://medfordlibrary.org/storytime.
