A lovely walk to get away from the city. My dog loves it, and there's a great spot for dogs to go swimming on the loop.

I love fresh pond reservation. Some of the rules folks should be aware of our that only Cambridge residents can park in the parking areas. No visitor permits are allowed. Also, dogs with Cambridge tags are allowed off leash in certain areas so long as the dog remains under the control of its owner and all owners of course must pick up after their dogs. There are doggy waste bags at various points long the path around the pond. Finally, there are fully accessible restrooms in the water department building and during the summer I believe they're open till 7:00 p.m.

Beautiful scenery and well carved out trails to ride your bike while enjoying said scenery. I wish it was more well lit since there are barely ANY lights on the trail so if you decide to go biking at night it will be pitch black and truly at your own risk so be careful. This is also the reason for my 4 stars. Update: beautiful scenery during the day but still very little lights on the paths to light ones way at night.

Good place to take a walk. Fresh and pleasant atmosphere.

There is a parking lot by the District Water Building but it is for Cambridge residents only. On Sundays, you can park on the streets in the neighborhoods near Fresh Pond and walk to the reservoir.
It is plowed and sanded in certain sections only. Often times the surface is hard packed snow with some pavement showing. You never really know what you are going to get out there in the Winter months, but the crew does try hard to keep it accessible for the runners and walkers.
