Very interesting, far more than I had expected . It truly gives you a sense of the life. Including the full size replica whaling ship inside the museum.

So much unexpected awesomeness! The whaling is just a part... There's also the industrial history, the labor actions, the Portuguese community, the paintings, the jaw-dropping scrimshaw collection...

Lovely exhibits there's so much to learn not only about whaling.

Not a building, museum, or park, New Bedford Whaling National Historic Park is a district of the city, that includes all of those things and much more. For most people it's a destination for history, arts, food, and entertainment, for many it's a place to work, and for some it's home. Everyone is welcome. You'll be enchanted by the streets, buildings, art, music, cuisine, and people. Old coexists with new, townies and tourists. Don't ask about the namesake, the magnificent creatures. We really shouldn't have killed all those whales, but today we strive for redemption. This place is now gifted with vibrancy, grit, beauty, and hope. 'Love to see you!

Yes. It's a city and former whaling capital. Also, currently largest fishing port on east coast. I recomment visiting the whaling museum.

We did not see a place to store a luggage but there is a locker room where you have to store bags like backpacks etc. Perhaps they have accommodations for luggage that we just did not notice. Like others have recommended, call and ask.
