Does anyone have information when the skating rink was closed at the Park? In the 1950's and early 1960's, I would travel from the North Philadelphia suburbs to visit my aunt that lived on East Pittsfield St and go skating. What a great time.

I wasn't alive at the time to see the area in its heyday, unfortunately, but I do know the amusement park there shut down in 1967, which would be my guess for when the ice rink was shut down as well.
There are personalized bricks that people have bought used as a sidewalk and runs along the gazebo in the park. It's called the Memorial Brick Program. The cost of each brick runs around $40. Not sure if they are still doing it. You'd have to contact the Pennsville, NJ Recreation Dept.
I grew up in this town and was always in this park either fishing in the lake it the river as a child, I'm not sure how many acres this park is but the track is just s little over a mile. The park is a good place to bring your children it has a nice playground and you can also have cookouts here as well. They do have the basketball courts and tennis courts. There are a couple pavilions also. A short drive will take you to several places to eat. The view of the Delaware is nice. You'll also meet friendly people either walking, running, it just taking their dog out for a walk. Go enjoy. 😃
