Sadly, this amazing organization will be ceasing adoption operations after the races stop in Florida, but they're responsible for placing awesome dogs like my Zephyr (formerly known as Lifer) in loving homes all over Jax and beyond. So grateful for their work and assistance. I picked him up two days ago and he is already a dream.

We just picked up Ms. Minnie, our new greyhound, today and she is already taking to her new surroundings! Greyhounds as Pets of Northeast Florida was incredibly helpful throughout the entire adoption process, and has helped us find our forever family member! They answered any and all questions we had, gave us tips and tricks for care, and have made themselves available to us if we have any questions or concerns in the future. I encourage anybody interested in adopting a retired racer to reach out to them.

I have two fast babies. Grey babies are amazing!!! This is Ellie enjoying retirement. She had 14 1st wins and many 2nd & 3rd.

We adopted our beloved greyhound, Texas, from Greyhounds as Pets Jax in April. The staff was great and so helpful in assisting us in finding the right greyhound to fit into our household, which included two other dogs and a cat. Highly recommend- adopt a greyhound- you won't be sorry!!

Never in Florida again. You will see a reduction in Greyhounds in Florida until they are pretty much, No More. Eventually the only kind of dog you will be able to find in this state will be a pit bull cross.
There is an application on their website here : https://www.greyhoundpetsjax.org/application-form
It is worth the 325. Best dog I have ever had. The staff there is great and will board your greyhound for 20 dollars a day if you need in the future
It's open by appointment only as far as I know. If you call they will be happy to set a time and date to meet the dogs that are available for adoption.
Yes they can just like any other dogs but they do get cold if they are outside for to long
Just like any pet, it really depends on the personality of the hound. The adoption representative will work with you to find the right hound for ur family, so it's really up to you if u want more than one. Cuz, trust me, once u have one, ur gonna want more. ;)
