Today was an actual appointment for a vet to check Jake's 5 "lumps", especially a new one. There were 7 cars in the lot, 4 patients waiting, & 6 front desk staff. 1 patient was for food and the other was in and out quickly. The vet tech was very nice and Jake just followed her. His vitals were good, his weight 5#'s more than his last weigh-in & then Dr. Ludwig checked the 5 lumps, doing a fine needle biopsy on the new one. Fatty tumor. He suggested 1/2 of his usual amount of food at 2 meals, his Joint Max and no other treats except baby carrots & frozen green beans until he's down to 90#'s . His goal is 85#'s. This was probably the best experience since 2012 until the pandemic. Everyone was professional & friendly, & Jake wasn't a bit afraid. Finally!

We have dealt with all our pets at this facility but we will not do that in the future. I called to board my two Yorkies, all the arrangements were made then they called back and said I would need to bring them in for shots and gave me a time. I asked if there was another time because my husband had a dr appt at that time. Sabastian went to ask the dr and came back to tell me we could not board the dogs there since they have to have the shots earlier than our time allotted for boarding. Sabastian had already said i would have to pay an extra fee to isolate our dogs which i understood. To me, this seemed like they were discriminating against us for some reason. Needless to say we had no problem boarding them at another very reputable vet. Later today I have now received an email confirming our boarding appointment with Chiquita. This all seems very confusing. The poor employee Sabastian, who said we were all set to board, had to come back and withdraw the approval. We will not do business there again.

I rarely write reviews if hardly ever. But I had to write one for Dr. Baumgart & his staff. I've been to a couple of clinics & vet hospitals. But Dr Baumgart is such a kind, caring doctor & his staff has always been so courteous & professional. I'm always amazed how they seem truly happy doing their jobs at Chiquita Animal Hospital. They always have such great attitudes & spirit about them. And Dr Baumgart always show so much care for all my babies. They are a wonderful team.

They were friendly and got us in quickly, but misdiagnosed our pup and told us he needed surgery for a little over a thousand dollars. Thank goodness we got a second opinion! It ended up being a minor outpatient procedure that costed less than two hundred.

They have heart but a limited facility. I do not know your story. Sorry to hear this happened to your baby.
Yes they do
Thank you for your kind review! We do not have a doctor on site during off hours. Our technician staff is responsible for caring for animals on off hours and have access to our doctors should the need arise.
Chiquita Animal does a good job. They care and will scan for a chip.
