I am a new resident at Freedom Plaza....less than 3 months. Every new person that I meet and every new experience just confirms that I have made the correct decision. Beautiful grounds, a perfect apartment customized for me, wonderful staff and residents, delicious food, a range of available activities and events: what a terrific way to spend the last inning of my life!

Freedom Plaza in Sun City Center FL is a fantastic place to live. Apartments are good size. The employees/associates are kind, helpful, the food is great, activities are great (more will come when the covid pandemic declines) . This is the place to live for senior citizens.

When looking for a place for a final retirement home my wife and I wanted 3 things: A warm climate, continuing care, and a military affiliation. We found all of these at Freedom Plaza and much more. The people are very friendly, the staff treats us like family, and the grounds are beautiful. We also love having a golf course on the campus. It truly is stress free living in a country club atmosphere. My wife and I cannot think of a better place to live.

I have lived at Freedom Plaza for 7 months now and have been impressed with the friendliness of the residents, the food quality, facility cleanliness, and responsiveness of the management. There are activities for a wide variety of interests. The Marketing staff members get friendly greetings from the residents. That is a great sign. No buyers remorse! I am curious about the 2 one star reviews. The writers' names are not in the resident directory. Makes me wonder if they are false reviews.

A stay in a short-term rehabilitation facility typically occurs after an illness, injury, or hospital stay. Our skilled rehabilitation team members will work with you to develop a customized short-term care plan, so you can reach your goals and heal as quickly and safely as possible. We offer a range of short-term rehabilitation services in a welcoming residential setting. So that you can fully focus on your health and healing, we take care of chores like housekeeping and laundry, and help you with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming and medication management. Our team of physical, occupational and speech therapists will consult with your personal physician, ensuring your plan for short-term care is entirely customized to your needs. During your short-term stay, we’ll assist with the details of hospital admission, discharge and more. We also conduct a home assessment or home visit to ensure you’re able to safely return to your normal routine.
Skilled nursing within a senior living community provides 24-hour licensed nursing care. Skilled nursing facilities primarily provide long-term care or rehabilitative therapies for patients and residents who need medical or nursing care and is ideal for those with chronic medical conditions or disabilities, or those in chronic pain, who require round-the-clock care and supervision by licensed skilled nursing professionals. While this area of the community does provide advanced levels of on-going long-term care as well as short-term rehabilitative services, the suites and spaces are designed to be warm and comfortable and reflect a home-like environment, unlike a hospital.
The most effective activities for those with Alzheimer’s disease or other related dementias are highly structured activities and routines that help maintain abilities and encourage the use of current skills. Programs such as discussion groups to promote mental agility and physical exercise such as dancing can be powerful in providing enjoyable and meaningful experiences. Ultimately all activities should provide memory care residents with a sense of purpose and a feeling of security.
While both assisted living and memory care provide assistance with the activities of daily living, such as help with bathing, dressing and grooming, medication management, and personal maintenance, memory care at Freedom Plaza Assisted Living and Memory Care offers a specific type of compassionate care that is specially designed for those with memory impairment. Each member of our memory care team is trained in the specialized skills needed to provide excellent Alzheimer’s care and dementia care. After initial training, they then participate in continuing education courses to remain current in best practices.
Assisted living gives you the helping hand you need to keep active, stay engaged, and pursue your passions. You’ll live in a beautifully appointed apartment home and receive assistance with the basic activities of daily living, tailored to your specific needs, such as help with bathing, dressing and grooming, medication management, and personal maintenance. Nursing homes, sometimes referred to as skilled nursing, are for those with chronic medical conditions or disabilities, or those in chronic pain, who require round-the-clock care and supervision by licensed skilled nursing professionals.
In an assisted living community, residents get help with some of the basic activities of daily living. These often include assistance with bathing, dressing and grooming, medication management and personal maintenance. The specific assistance provided is determined by a personal services assessment in order to understand needs. The goal of an assisted living facility is to allow residents to enjoy their lives with just the right help while living as independently as possible.

In addition we have access to the Sun City Center Community Center with an indoor walking pool, an indoor swimming pool and 2 outdoor pools. This is the best decision I ever made.
