I don’t know about the facility it’s self yet, but I am writing this review for the simple reason that if you are in nursing, we need to adhere in proving the best care for ANY that we become care takers for, otherwise you are not abiding by any of the protocols, guidelines implemented upon your establishment in caring for patients. Today, I went to the bank on SF Road and Burbank, and upon entering it, I could smell a strong foul offensive oder of urine. As I approached the end of the I scanned around and saw an elderly woman with a caretaker already being helped by a teller. I saw that this woman was able to stand, and her vacant w/c had a pillow with urine stains. I felt nauseous and wanted to get sick, then comes a man to stand in line, and I could hear him sniff and look at me, at which point I needed to let him know it was not me, but to look at the w/c. . Both of us along with other patrons of the bank were wondering how can anyone just allow a person smell so bad, This person is obviously gravely disabled and is unable to care for herself, so she must be encouraged to shower, and/or negotiate to do this for going out to the bank. Just don’t negotiate for her basic needs such as food or medical assistance. Her care give has obviously seems to have established a good relationship with her, now is the time to use the leverage of outings with her. I hope that during her absence at the facility where she is from, they were able to clean her room.

Horrible communication. We found out my mother-in-law was at the facility when we got a voicemail the residents were tested for covid and although there was one positive it was not her. After numerous phone calls consisting of hang ups, being placed on hold and wrong transfers we managed to talk directly with her for update on why she was there. Fast forward. Multiple staff gave contradictory information on her fractures. It seems left elbow was fractured but she had only soft cast that was removed while she was there. On discharge to board and care transport was very late and at one point my husband was called asking where was he she was waiting. A real nightmare. Staff may be new, not properly trained , exhausted or just do not care. We could not even get to look at copies of x-rays. Also after she was attended to at the board and care open sores were found on her. We wonder did she ever get a bath during the time she was at the rehab. Center. They should have been found

Some staff members over there have no professional manners. Most of the time when they come to work it is like they are ready to fight within themselves and to each other. Starting from the office to the housekeeping services, all of them need courtesy training and let them know that they are working in a rehab facility that's dealing with patients who need their help and support to get back up on their feet. They need to know the truth and this is the reason why I can only give them 1 star. To all family members make sure that your beloved one are well taking care of there because that place will fake it for you to believe it. Beware and be careful!

My mother recently spent 3 weeks at this facility. These people do an outstanding job under tough conditions. My mother's caregivers were caring and efficient. Sure, sometimes things are out of their control, but overall, day in and day out, they were wonderful and kind and caring towards my 91 year old mother, and managed to rehabilitate her after a fall, and get her back home. God bless them, they ROCK.
