I always enjoy coming here, even just for browsing.

The lovely setting, fountains, and decor make this an outing, not just plant shopping. There is a vast outdoor area as well as indoor shopping for decor and garden accessories.

First time at Alden Lane Nursery... It was amazing. My manager told me to check it out after our meeting, so I tried my best to not take too long looking around as it was an unofficial extended lunch. I will definitely be going back! The plants were all so healthy and beautiful. I was able to purchase ladybugs, which was out of stock in stores. I can't wait to go back and spend the day there. I bought indoor plants, ground cover, succulents, worm castings, a birch branch (!) for a project I have, and a mini trellis. A perfect haul at reasonable prices. I wish they had more hanging pots, but the pots they did have were beautiful and very good quality.

I visited this nursery for the first time yesterday and I was overwhelmed! So many variety of plants and flowers wonderfully set beneath big and gracefully aged oak trees! They had a very big selection of pottery and garden sculpture. This is heaven for garden lovers! They had a beautiful indoor shop too! Will definitely go back and spend more time in this paradise.

How often to water using a drip system can vary based on a lot of factors. In a drought year, we are watering our established landscape plants about 30 minutes once or twice a week. A lot of factors affect the timing, beginning with the weather. Watering should go up and down with the heat. The other factors include emitter spacing and size as well as how established the plants are and how drought tolerant they are. Plants with only one emitter are going to suffer regardless of timing, because 1 dripper seldom waters the whole root zone. A moisture meter is a great way to check when to water next. As a rule of thumb, water thoroughly/deeply then allow the top couple inches to dry before watering again. Feel free to stop in and discuss. Hope this helps. Alden Lane Nursery

Our next shipment of Christmas cactus is expected about November 11th. The order includes a mix, we'll know the colors when they arrive. Best advice is to call ahead or about the 11th and we can put your name on a yellow one. 925-447-0280

Hi Becky, Grace N Grit Roses are not part of our current collection, but we do buy from Monrovia, who grows the series. The best way to see how we can get a hold of this rose for you is to call us while our plant buyer is on hand. Pam works Sunday through Thursday. Our Phone: 925 447-0280. Thank you
Hi Becky, I can check tomorrow to see what we have on hand. The smaller ones are popular and I believe I saw some earlier last week. There are two major groups of Magnolias, those that keep their leaves through winter, and those that don't. The evergreen ones have a classic, glossy leaf and the ones that lose leaves are paler, not as stiff, and not glossy. I'm assuming you mean the evergreen type. Let me know if you were wondering about the other type. Greg Aldenlane Nursery
