I really enjoy going too this beach when I'm in the area. It is very relaxing not too many people. They have amazing smelling trees like eucalyptus and you have to climb over this hill to get to the Oceanside. Also,it's a very clean beach even though I've seen people do bonfires. It is pet friendly... It has bathrooms with a rinse place and they have a Box place were they charge but every time I go it's usually close. They also have benches where too cook abd have a picnic.I highly recommend going to this beach if you want peace and quiet

A perfect beach to watch the sunset 🌅 $10 of admission/parking fee. There are two parking lots with about a mile of distance from each other. There are many cute birds on the beach. We’ll come back.

I did tent camping @ spot #2 near the entrance. Was my 1st time here but its now one of my favorite in CA. The spots are large & fit a trailer or 2 vehicles. Some spots are next to each other. Put your food away in the lockers @ night. Some raccoons went through my things.

I liked the beach very much because it was less crowded. Beach is very big however very less crowded when I visited today (on Saturday). Also weather was warm. Parking is 10$ for a day pass. Important tip- There is very weak T mobile network, I had lot of difficulty to access maps while coming back. There are also lots of campgrounds available for overnight stay. There is no restaurant or store to get food. It's better to bring food. Definitely must go this beach at least once 👍

Yes. $10 a day till sunset $39 a night to camp I think 🤔
The bathroom situation is a bit limited, but the view especially at sunset is worth it.
It is 10$ for day use good for any state park for that day 8am- Sunset. There is a disabled lifetime discount pass that cost $3.50 and gives you a discount for state parks of 50%. I believe they only accept state parks passes. Hopefully this is helpful
Dont think on actual beach, but theres place close to parking lot
True that
Yes on service dog. There are dunes so might be a little rough to get over the dunes in a wheelchair on the beach but doable with help. Capitols beach is probably better because of the paved sidewalk and benches along the sidewalk with ocean front
Yes. They sell firewood bundles at the entrance. We were there last week.
There are pay showers in mens room and womens room. Bring your quarters!
Yes
I am not sure. You can try looking it up on the website. From what I understand from France is at the beaches are open but they're only open for a certain amount of hours but that was yesterday so I'm not sure what's accurate
I believe there is camping, overnight, a few. Not sure about county residents? I'm not from California and I only paid a fee.
The times I been ther I always bring food .I don't pay to much attention to what everyone else is doing since I am there for the fishing
Yes
Not during the lockdown, they have them taped off as well as the picnic tables
Officially closes at sunset
11am to 5pm
Parking lot isn't open. Not sure when it will be. There's parking by the fields, but it's a walk to the beach. Beach is closed from 11am-5pm. You have to be in the water during that time.
Beaches are open from 5:00 pm, parking lots are closed, you may park at road shoulder close to beach parking gate.
I was there two weeks ago. Parking red zones seem not get no tickets
You must arrive early to claim a fire pit. do not allow fires without one Learn to pronounce
Gets packed. Get there early. Bring food water The closest restaurants/shops are miles away. Think I saw a taco truck nearby once but that was during the day...
Depends on what you're looking for. There's redwoods on the grounds in the camping areas, but if you're looking for a more forested area the Santa Cruz mountains are beautiful and only about a 30 minute drive away.
There is a decent amount of parking on the right side of the road as you get close to the parking lot. Palm /Sunset beach parking is CA state parks so I think it's $10 to park if you need to go into the lot. 75% of the time you'll find room right outside the lot.
No propane fire pits
There are showers in the campgrounds
Depends when you make the drive and whether there is traffic. Could be a half hour on a good day and an hour on a bad one.
Usually Pines older tall ones bats fly@dark2))
The north side does have a paved ramp down to the beach, but depending on the handycap, the sand will be a challenge. The south beach, you will have to go from the parking lot up a sand hill and down again so it is a bit harder. I would say stick to the north side next to where you enter the park, and you should be fine, but it can be a bit of a steep ramp.
Near beach but not on it.
Yes but the kind sheriffs will escort you of the beach after about an hour. And theyll give you a warning
I like staying at the south camp sites. I believe 1 or 30 is nice. We usually stay in the ones close to the restrooms and water faucet. Another thing for overnight camping, lock up your food and ice chests... Raccoons will get into them if you dont.😂
Wow! Some of those answers don't sound like the place I was. RV's are there. Giant 200k or more with the awnings pulled out with retirees in expensive arm chairs watching theirs 50 inch tv's. Their Lexus near by so they can drive to the boring beach so they don't have to climb down all those stairs to the sand. There was a generous 5' between each one.Looked like a great wilderness experience! That's how I saw it in early Nov.
