I like staying at the south camp sites. I believe 1 or 30 is nice. We usually stay in the ones close to the restrooms and water faucet. Another thing for overnight camping, lock up your food and ice chests... Raccoons will get into them if you dont.😂
I prefer. South camp
I stayed at South camp site. it is very good
South Camp is the only loop open until spring. If you are looking to go after the other loops open, it just depends on what youre looking for. Pine Hollow is all dirt parking. On the weekends it can get more crowded and is a little more of a party atmosphere. But there are more trees and places to hang hammocks if youre tent or hammock camping. South is closest to the beach and you can hear the waves crash at night. Plus its a stones throw from the beach overlook which is the perfect place to watchbthe sunsets each night. Site #25 is the "coveted" spot bc its the only spot where you have a clear view of the ocean...so if you can reserve it in advanced its worth it. #23 has a partial view of the ocean but its really only for tent camping. Dunes is fine....nice spots and there is a trail to the ocean acrossed the stree but its not as close as south. Hope that helps! Its an awesome park....enioy!
Only the south camp area is oen
This time of year it's not crowded. I'd ask at the kiosk where you check in/pay.
I like the sites 1-37 since it's protected a little in case it rains. The last few times I've been the group camping has been closed. Just watch out for the racoons.
Why don't you ask it the ranger's office when you pull in a lot of times you just might not have a choice
We were staying at a condo down the beach. Didn't see any of the other available accommodations
