I have taken the Ventura county line from Bob Hope airport down to Los Angeles and Union station it's a great ride but taking it all away from Los Angeles into Santa Barbara that is definitely a wonderful ride and vice versa too well done in San Diego wonderful ride it's up on Metrolink you'll have to take Amtrak put out to go to San Diego same thing with them you know Metrolink go up to Santa Barbara Amtrak but it's still a beautiful ride

The signage here for train direction isn't as clear as it could be. It would be helpful if they added signs for northbound and southbound. Track 2 for southbound to Union Station or San Diego, etc. Track 1 for all points northbound (toward Van Nuys, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, etc.) Track 1 is the same side as the ticket machine and the parking lot. Note: the parking lot is small and cramped and can get tricky to turn around in. You access it from Empire.

This review was long overdue. I appreciate this airport, the cleanliness, the friendly staff, and the variety of available flights. I fly to Sacramento very often and I am glad I can rely on this airport. Tip. Make sure to arrive 45 mins early to ensure you make your flight!

A basic necessity is signage and information. As a first time user of the platform, I could not tell (even after walking the length of both platforms) which side would allow me to board my train heading to Union Station. The ticketing machine is confusing as well. It offers a number of tickets options like 'special tickets' and 'corporate tickets'. In order to buy from the machine, you have to choose the option that says 'buy from airport's which made me concerned that I would be going back into Bob Hope to get a ticket printed. Luckily not. In any case, a helpful local directed me to board on the side opposite the ticketing machine area. And it was an Amtrak surfliner. I had purchased a Metrolink ticket. I looked confused enough so the Amtrak employee helpfully asked me where I was headed and looked at my ticket. She then directed me to board the train ( which I would not have done otherwise since it did not match my purchased ticket). Yikes. What a confusing morning. At least it is clean and within easy access of the airport.

I'm almost positive, they probly have to go through and check it 1st..
Yes, the Bob Hope station can be used for travel to and from L.A. Union Station.
If you're not Uber or Lyft, you may pick up at the curb in front of the terminals.
No hot sauce on Amtrak. No food services on Metrolink. Also, you should a avoid eating heavy odor foods like hot wings in the passenger train cars. There's a dining car on Amtrak where food's sold and you can eat there.
Yes, and just stay in the airport terminal until 15 mins before bus time. You don't need to be in the cold at the station that early.
I don't see any Amtrak service, but if you go to https://MetroLinkTrains.com, you can view the schedule for rail service between Santa Clarita (NHL) and the airport (BUR)
Amtrak offers the Coast Starlight which runs from San Diego, .CA to Seattle, WA with connections to Jack London Square in Oakland.
There is no checked baggage service. You'll need to lug it all on by yourself unless a helpful stranger assists. Amtrak typically has more room for luggage than Metrolink does, although some Metrolink cars do have racks for luggage downstairs. On the platform there is one cantankerous machine for tickets, which sometimes refuses to read credit cards (especially when it's raining out).
Uber
Southbound trains usually run on track #2, the one farther from the airport and closer to the graveyard.
No
Why?
Maybe a 1/4 of a mile, maybe..
All of the 700 series Pacific Surfliners stop here
Yes, the north platform will be the green line and you can that to Union Station and take the purple line to Ontario. I would suggest getting the app and you can use that to find routes around the Metrolink
There is street parking and some spots are available at the Mwtrolink station at no charge.
With Amtrak, its about $30-57 depending on where you're going and whether you upgrade to first class or not. The Metrolink to Oceanside is 18.75. All prices listed are one-way. Hope that helped!
It should be no problem as you still have about 35 minutes to get to the train station, so as long as your flight arrives on time, and as Paul said, if you don't have checked baggage to claim, you should make it on time.
There is parking available for $8 to $12 a day Parking at Airport Lot C (on Thornton Ave.) costs $12/Day. Other info: Dedicated accessible parking available50 short-term parking spaces50 long-term parking spacesParking is availableNo parking attendant
