Just looking back over my comments from many years ago...not a word has changed!! Would love to spend just one more night under my favorite tree before I leave this planet. ...... I was a guest at Isaiah House for 5 years! I call it the "Hidden Paradise"! My life was shattered to no end and through the kindness and structure i learned, i found not only "freedom" from my destructiveness, but for the first time found "me"! I was not pressured by programs nor alienated by anyone because of my "situation". I was so loved that i felt uncomfortable. Life had taught me that "Nothing good comes without a cost". Not so at Isaiah House. I had to lose everything in order to find myself...to find "home". I belonged. Lastly...i learned to like myself. Now, I'm working on loving myself...so I'll always have work to do. "People before things" & "Forgiveness pays the rent" = Isaiah House!!! Beverly "Big Mama" Cunningham

I lived at Isaiah house for two and a half years. I was living with family and was asked to leave. Through my counselor at school, she found Isaiah house for me. They were my sanctuary. I had the privilege to help out in the kitchen by serving a continental breakfast every morning from the many donations provided. Leah and Dwight provided a place for many women who happened to become homeless. They provided food and accessories, such as toiletries, blankets, clothes, and other things to any homeless that asked. They also provided showers for those that wanted it. Their assistant, Melissa, was also very helpful , friendly, and caring. I loved my time spent there . Isaiah House, Leah, Dwight, and Melissa provided a very warm and friendly atmosphere. If I had the privilege and time, I would go there to just spend the night. I love Leah, Dwight and Melissa. God bless Isaiah House.

I love what they are doing and I hope the idea catches on. We need to take care of each other especially at this time when so many are alone without families, jobs and without hope. We can't turn our backs on our brothers when they need us the most.

For nearly 5 years I have been bringing bread donated by French's bakery to Isiah house on Saturday evenings. They house about 70 women in the house and provide about 3,500 meals per week to the homeless, some at the house, but also at other locations. The reviewer who said "false hope" is out to lunch. Leah and her husband have helped greatly thousands of homeless over the years. Isiah House is a one of a kind gem.
