The inventory was a bit sparse (small animal section) and the feel of the store was a bit like going to a warehouse shop. To be honest, it felt more like PetSmart than PetCo, serviceable but a notch below.

Rude employees! They ignore you, they avoid you! The place is so cooold and not welcoming at all! don’t go there! One of the guys was looking at my kids as if he saw viruses! His eyes was so evil! They were just admiring fishes! I could give Zero star!

My puppy received the worse grooming treatment ever. Not only was the staff unprofessional but the lack of communication was awful. They stated they called twice and left a voice mail for pick up.... I got a no call. When I picked up my dog they stated no charge. I asked why because and they said he nipped at the groomer. They stated he did that on prior visits as well. If my dog was a threat why except him every time before. What did the groomer do to my dog? Kids are always with him and that has Neverend happened.... Also when My pup was checked into his appointment I updated my phone number.... also the groomers put his harness backwards... like wth...

I have seen some kittens closer to the back of the store I think...I hope I am remembering that correctly (I get Petco and PetSmart confused sometimes). But I have definitely seen PetSmart in Fremont have them. If you download the Nextdoor app, you can sometimes find people giving away free kittens too, but good luck!

No, California does not allow pet supplies to sell dogs or cats, they do have adoption events. Dogs and cats are brought in from local shelters to be adopted in store.
