False advertisement! I ordered Mason Jars 64 oz 6pc on the Ace Hardware website. To get the store free delivery I had to order an additional product that was rather overpriced. The next day I received from them a cancellation of my mason jars. They did not give any specific reason for the cancellation. I was surprised because the day before they advertised the Mason Jars 64 oz as being in stock in every their store. I went online again and found that the item was still available. I called their customer service and their representative confirmed that I could order the item. When I requested an explanation, he contacted the store/warehouse - and informed me that Ace Hardware did not have any Mason Jars 64 oz at all, even in their warehouse! However, I still see that #Ace Hardware continues to advertise Mason Jars 64 oz 6 pc on their website and the Internet as they did before.

I always go to Ace Hardware for items not available in the big box stores. The hardware aisle has large cabinets with drawers full of items that I can't find elsewhere. If you need something like a cork for an antique bottle, you can find the right size. If you need a shoulder bolt, or a clevis pin for a trailer hitch, they have it. I design and build mechanical projects which require parts I can't get at Home Depot, or Lowes. There is always someone who greets me and asks if they can help me find something, and they always do. Most of the guys who help me are old timers like myself and they are a wealth of knowledge which comes from years of experience. If I ask them where I can find a barrel bolt, they know what I'm talking about and show me where to find it. I don't mind paying a little more for the items I need because the parts availability and help I receive is worth it. The last time I went there was for ant spray. The guy who helped me explained the different types depending on my ant issue. Were they indoors or outdoors, were they around food, were they around drains looking for water? I no longer have an ant problem thanks to the employees knowledge. I urge the readers to try Ace Hardware for their hardware, garden and home repair needs and the quality service they provide. We all need to support the smaller businesses so they can survive the pressure of the big box stores which sadly have pushed a lot of mom and pop stores to extinction.

Always my go-to place, their prices may be slightly more than the big box stores but it's more than made up for if I have a question. The knowledgeable staff and the wide selection. If they just had an indoor lumber yard I'd never visit a big box store again.
