A wonderful place to visit on a Friday night, I must recommend you take a trip at least once here if you live in the area. The people who host the event are very knowledgeable, and are more than willing to discuss at length the instrumentation and physics involved in observing the universe.

This was great for the family. It's hard to not give five stars when it's free :-) although it's not completely free, be very careful and make sure you pay for parking because the overzealous college parking people will give you a ticket. So it is $3. also it can get cold in there, at least in the winter time. It's open to the sky obviously :-) so bring a coat. also bring something to do, perhaps a book about the stars to read while you are waiting in line. basically they point the telescope at something cool to look at, they talk about it and tell interesting stories about it, then you all wait in line to get your turn to look. In the meantime I wish I would have had something to read, or I guess if you're an extrovert you can strike up an interesting conversation with the other people in line.

This is a small observatory with a very good telescope. Every Friday night, it's open to public. Great place to learn. On clear days, you can see many celestial objects.

Very nice cast of people and did their best finding celestial bodies with the ever moving cloud cover.
