Great public observing nights (not happening during COVID but will resume afterwards)

An old but nice observatory, with open houses on the 5th and 20th of each month. The open house consists of a 30 minute lecture followed by a tour of the facility and its telescopes, and, weather permitting, viewing. Good for older kids.

Umm, what exactly is your question?

Has the observatory opened?

No, not yet. We will post on our website, FB page and send an email to our mailing list once we are given a date. This is out of our hands. We are waiting on the department and university.

Are they open for open house visits at this point?

Unfortunately no. For the Fall 2020 semester, the observatory is focused on maintaining a safe environment for the students who have labs. Therefore, all public in-person activities are temporarily suspended. Please check the homepage (in the social media box) for announcements of virtual events.
