My review is long overdue, and all I've ever been able to talk about is the positive things about Hillside Apartments. They have an excellent leasing staff who I can earnestly say, care about the tenants. They seem to go out of their way to make it easier for the tenant. I've live there about 8 years and I have never seen a better run complex, and my hat always goes out to the Maintenance Crew who are professionals who "maintain the property". And maintaining the property means keeping everything in running order and this pleases my wife who in turn is always cheerful, and as the old saying goes..."happy wife, happy life"! The apartment is located in an excellent location for shopping, dining, and leisure. So if you want a good and safe place to live, I highly recommend them.

We have lived here for 2 1/2 years. Management is great and has always answered our questions. Plus if we have had any issue maintenance has taken care of it in a timely manner. Location is very convenient to 161 and 121.

Where do i begin... This apartment has truly went from Good to total Hell. We have been here for almost two years, in which time we have experience the following: Water heater leak: mildly flooded the apartment Appliance failures: Multiple requests to fix Stolen property: We had two adult-size bikes on the back patio, and to our surprise one day after work they were gone, and of course no remorse from management. Pest infestation: as experienced by several other tenants, this place has an increasingly horrible roach infestation problem that management refuses to take ownership of, and will blame you for the problem after witnessing your unit being completely clean. After bringing this to the attention of management a pest control was made and performed, and a following one the week after, the problem still persists and getting worse. Management also stated pest control had been unable to service our unit due to a "loose cat", we have no animals................................Management takes no ownership or responsibility and will blame you for any issues photos are attached to show issues of infestation in both the kitchen bathroom despite being routinely and regularly cleaned by us. Management has also practically lied and mislead us into signing another 12 month contract. I spoke with the manager when our lease was ready to renew around August of 2016 and expressed our plans to purchase to home and asked how it would work if we needed to terminate our contract early for moving into a home. I was told that they allowed us to end the contract at any time without it being considered a broken lease so long as we had proof of purchase. This was very important for us determining if we were going to renew and for how long, the manager specifically told me we could cancel at anytime and never mentioned that we have to give them a 60 day notice, which if that were the case we would have only signed a 6 month lease so that there would be no overlap, instead we signed a 12 month lease. I called the manager 1-2 months ago to ensure we could still have an early termination for the purchase of our first home, she placed me on hold, and came back to tell me we had to give them a 60 day notice which i was shocked to say the least. She said she pulled the contract and said 'oh well it's in the contract'... I cannot begin to explain how deceitful the manager and the management company is. While i understand after reviewing it was hidden in the back of the contract, i specifically asked numerous times if we needed to give them any specific amount of time before we eve signed a new lease to avoid this problem and any overlap especially as being first time home buyers. As always the manager and management company wanted to blame us for and take no responsibility at all. Because of that we decided we would try to stay until the end of our lease to avoid any further issues. Due to the current pest infestation we decided it was becoming inhabitable and unsafe for us to live here so we purchased a home to close as soon as possible, we reached out to management to see if they would accept a 30 day notice, and to no surprise all the manager could say was its in the contract, and that they will have to treat the unit for several weeks to try eliminate the problem even though we won't be here for that long. All this to say i recommend anyone who has an option to avoid these apartments, while reasonably priced, they simply are not worth it at all. To end it all, I have filed a complaint with Fair Housing, Texas Real Estate Association, Texas Apartment Association and even contacted an attorney for counsel against the management company. In short- while the tenants and community are very nice and peaceful, the management company and manager are the worst.
