A new park to The Big Valley on the old Barbara Stanwyck property also known as the oakie estate. Thanks for saving this one. Hopefully one day the house will be restored. By the way no bathrooms but there are drinking fountains for people and pets.

We had a good time. The place IS old and needs lots of work. We've passed by for years and always wanted to see it. There is so much history. Walk through with a docent for the best experience.

What a shame the property and immediate area are so overdeveloped. Dont get me wrong, i LOVE many of the shops and restaurants around here, i just think there's too many housing developments, and maybe that car dealership could have been located elsewhere so Oakridge and the property next door could be as they used to. Plus I guessnthe stables and racetrack are gone from here, which is a shame. Still, we are very fortunate that this beautiful mansion and grounds still exist at all! It's just breathtakingly beautiful! They really knew how to build 'em in those days!

It's not a dog park, but dogs allowed on leash. I'm actually heading there now with my 2 dogs.
Open to the public and managed by Los Angeles Rec and Parks Department, the park has a walking trail, 128 new trees, 12 picnic tables, unique playground equipment, and a small amphitheater with log benches. Hours are from sunrise to sunset.
