I've wasted 5 years giving this place a chance, and what a waste of time it has been! I've had 9 different therapists and 2 different psychiatrists due to their high turnover rate in employees, their other staff are 9/10 times WILDLY ignorant and truly will not lift a finger to help you any further than they're required, if that. I've had 3 employees here treat me the way I would want them to, compared to the 50, 60, 70 different folks I've come in contact with in my time here. Honestly, the only reason I haven't left is because Syracuse doesn't seem to have much else available for successfully helping treat mental illness. Simply put, I don't recommend care here.

THIS REVIEW IS ONLY OF THE HOMESTEAD SRO AT 222 WYOMING STREET. I accidentally put my review in the wrong place. Kudos to Kristin & Randy and all the staff! I recently got evicted, forced to say farewell to almost all my personal property, plus the antiques my Mom left me and various artworks from Dad. I would've tried to save them but my mover decided that because I'm so poor I was planning on stiffing him. I wasn't. So there I was, with a few thick notebooks to show for years of hand writing stories out in cursive, and none of my late parents' art... Mom's silk flowers, Dad's magnificent computer art, where his elegant equations were transformed to patterns to weave on a loom. My good friend Ciarán's photography and editing. Others. Well, I landed on my feet with the help of my Case Manager and my boyfriend, Peter. My friends. I've loved it here so far. Even to the point that it took extra time to get my rent together and pay up: my landlady has been very carefully, and with understanding, waiting for it to come through, and it has done. I've made friends here already, and here, and I count her among them. I'd never heard of Helio Health prior to my crises of me and health - now I'm glad I did. I have seizures that often put me in danger. That of course was part of why my CM suggested I responded by signing papers and moving quickly. Doing the best I can, I've moved ahead. And if I didn't have the emergency regarding finance , I'd still want to be here.

My fiancee needed to get his medical records in order to continue his meds after his insurance dropped Helio. He repeatedly called them and even went to the office to sign a record request. They had no record of it and did nothing to help him. His GP office also sent requests to Helio, and received no response from them (the GP office documented in their files what they sent and to which fax number they sent it to). After trying for six weeks, we went to the office together and he completed another request. He had called the office manager (Kelly Niles) and informed her of the situation beforehand, and she seemed like she would help on the phone. But, conveniently, the office manager went on her lunch break as soon as we walked in the door. We requested to speak to her for a couple of minutes and she refused. I only wanted to inform her that their records didn't match the GP's records which means someone in her office isn't doing their job, which has effected the health of their patients. Instead, she sent her attack receptionist out to send us away. I would strongly suggest finding someone other than Helio Health to help you. And if you do go there, stay away from the African American woman out front. She is not a nice person.
