I wouldn’t even give a 1star Nicole is so rude and will get loud with you if your just trying to get an understanding they take months to call you back or the DONT call you back at all leaving a voicemail is pointless I swear they don’t return calls probably don’t even listen to them they also don’t return emails very difficult and stressful to deal with

You can't get anywhere with this place, I've applied at least 6 times still no assistance. Had a screening was denied section 8 with no reason given . Apparently though I'm still on the public housing wait list we'll gee I'm only number 1, 089 .... I need stable affordable housing right now. This housing authority is a joke no help at all not to mention rude at the screenings.

Almost anyone that you speak to are rude for absolutely no reason. You can come or call and be as nice as you wanna be but they will cut you off mid sentence. And this happens in person and over the phone. Better Training classes is my suggestion. And on some occasions was told they didn’t have my paperwork which have ss# and more important information on it. Makes me wonder if they no longer have it who does?

I've been a voucher holder since 2011-no choice. I was on the Kansas side first but had my voucher ported to the Missouri side and boy, have I had so many unfortunate encounters with this place. I hate having to call if I need questions answered because NO ONE returns phone calls. NO ONE. If I can manage to get through if I'm next in line the phone will disconnect. Right now as we speak my apartment complex have me owing a negative balance which I've NEVER had and NO ONE will return my calls OR answer emails. The communication for this place is horrible. You would literally have to go to their business to talk to them and I don't own a car so imagine the situation that I'm in. This place is understaffed and people like me have to suffer because of it. If you can avoid this place by all means take my advice! You've been warned.

Yes there is a veterans preference, you will move up the list faster especially if you homeless.
They are supposed to be having a screening for section 8 soon. There you will get your voucher

Yes
Find the local housing in that town and where your currently at they will "port" it over there and your good to go but of I were you I would make certain you know EXACTLY where it is you want fo reside...
I don't believe it is a quick process. if you are willing to apply for both public housing as well as what I refer to find your own place to live previously called section 8. There are several apartment complexes that base on your income or in house section 8. Hope this helped.
Your local residency manager or go to the local police station
Should be the same process as it is to port it to another town...ask the state housing your wanting to port your voucher to for more info.
You will need to go to 299 to find out your status.
Call 816-968-4100
Give them a call and they will let you know what number you are. If you move or any of your info changes go there and update your information.
Our waitlist is always open however we do not have a shelter. You may apply online at www.hakc.org for both Section 8 and Public Housing
