Organization of store was non existent. Sized all-out of order and had to go through everything to find right size. Low staff

Clothing, shoes and items are excellent but they definitely need to work on some of the cashiers attitudes. Went in yesterday after work to exchange a gift my mom and little sister bought my youngest daughter. The shoes were not worn and just needed a simple exchange for size and mind you I HAD THE RECEIPT!!!! Door greater was excellent, she tells me to get the size I need and go to the front and I do so. I get to the front and provide the cashier the shoes I need to exchange and the shoes that are the correct size. She then proceeds to do the return and puts it on a gift card fine, then she rings up the shoes I need and tells me there’s a difference and I need to pay the difference. I asked her why if it’s just an even exchange?? She tells me I need to do it this way or have my mom and sister do it to make it even. Instead of making my mom and sister make the exchange or make a scene I pay the difference and go on my way. But decided to for warn people of this in case they get a gift from a family member and are told to pay a difference when they exchange the item in case it’s too big or small. Shame on you Marshalls Palm Springs, it may seem like a small difference but you don’t know everyone’s financial situation.
