Awesome tattoo experience. Aspen was extremely patient with helping me find the perfect placement for my tattoo, she made me feel super comfortable to be there & I love the work she did! Light handed and cozy the entire time - would absolutely take a trip back to Montana to get a tattoo here. The shop is very clean and has great vibes with Sage/incense burning & they had a really good playlist on. Loved this place & I love my tattoo. Thank you guys!

I’ve been tattooed all over the world and never have I ever seen such AWESOME work. On Saturday February 12th, 2022 I walked into Cutthroat Tattoo with a friend of mine. We were coming to a close on our visit to Montana and wanted something to remember it by. Right when we walked in the door we were greeted warmly. While waiting for an artist to speak with us we looked at all of the amazing artwork in the walls. Wow! Aspen then came over to us and talked to us about the ideas we had. Right away I knew we were in good hands. I felt taken care of and that she was genuinely excited to tattoo my idea. After waiting only a short moment while drawing my tattoo, I filled out a waiver. I had to initial each of the boxes indicating I understood everything about the process of getting a tattoo. During this time, several others walked into the shop to talk about their tattoo ideas. Every conversation was handled professionally and it was so much fun to overhear other ideas. Once the waiver was completed, I was called over to the tattoo station. The preparation was done with care, along with the placement of the stencil. I am so excited at this point and Aspen only continues to better the experience with fantastic conversation. Listening to her talk to Thomas while he tattoos his client is fun to be a part of. The entire room becomes one and it’s filled with such energy. I can see why people come back to do this so often! The tattoo did not hurt as I had expected. Aspen made sure that I was okay. She was very kind throughout the process and made me feel so comfortable. Before you know it, it was over and I now have a tattoo!! A clean crisp perfect lovely piece that I can call mine. What an experience! This is by far the BEST serviced I’ve EVER experienced. FAIR pricing. CLEAN shop. PROFESSIONAL atmosphere. SPECTACULAR work. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! And if you are the type of person that actually reads long ridiculous paragraphs such as this... please note to disregard the obnoxious one star review left by Eric. After having heard amazing things about this place, doing the research and coming in for myself, I can honestly say everything he said is a bunch of Bull Cheese. GREAT job to Cutthroat Tattoo! Ten stars!!! You will see me again!

I have been tattooed all over the world and country, never have I experienced such a HORRIBLE, scarred, doubled lined and non-symmetrical tattoo in my life. In July 2021, I wanted to get a memorial tattoo for my dog. I brought in an impression of her paw and asked for a first aid cross to be placed in the middle. Immediately after completion and viewing the tattoo I was appalled, enraged and completely speechless. It took every ounce of me to calmly leave the building. I messaged Cutthroat tattoo less than 3 hours after completion of my “tattoo” and informed them that it will need fixed and most likely filled in solid black. (Defeating the original design and color integrity let alone now not actually representing its meaning or my dogs actual paw shape.) (see picture) They informed me to contact them after healing for a touch up. Let’s head some possible reply of I didn’t take care of this off. I have full sleeves, legs, and numerous pieces. This tattoo was cleaned and cared for in accordance with instructions from Cutthroat tattoo and numerous studios. Why did I wait 3 months to write this? I battled with even letting them touch me again to attempt to “fix it” They absolutely destroyed my memorial tattoo and crushed its meaning. Every other artist I have shown it too has been hesitant to even try and touch it due to the amount of scaring and the shock it was done at an “actual shop” and not some dark basement. I reached out to Cutthroat 10/26/21 and asked, “What IF any solutions they could give me.” They told me to come in and let them fix it and touch it up. WHY in the world would I ever let anyone affiliated with them touch my skin again?! You cannot take away the scaring and have lost all trust and confidence in your fidelity or ability. Further, why didn’t I return to the shop and show them this monstrosity in person? During my time awaiting set up, 4 others walked in to attempt to schedule a tattoo with their own designs in mind. The absolute disrespectful, confrontational, and belittling way I watched these people talked to and treated blew my mind. If I had returned in person, such confrontation would not be productive or tolerated. A previous reply to a review stated, “The integrity of our tattoos will always come first; and we will continue to discourage those that aren’t willing to work with us.” Wow is all I can say, look at these pictures again, tell me this is artistic integrity. As they discourage anyone not willing to work with them, I discourage anyone from allowing them to try and tattoo you.

Questions & Answers

How many years of experience? Any requirement in the state of Montana? Thanks.

Thomas has been tattooing since 2003 while Aspen has completed 1 of the 5 years of her apprenticeship. Montana does not require any amount of hours for one to be licensed - only 2 hour BBP, First Aid and the passing of a Sanitation Quiz. However, both Thomas and Aspen are also licensed in the state of Minnesota - which requires 250 hours of strict supervised tattooing, 5 hour BBP and First Aid. If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to give us a call at any time. We would love to walk over any information you'd like to acquire before choosing the right tattooer for you. 406-420-2883. Thanks Chris.

What would your price point be for a simple tattoo the size of a quarter?

Madison, we have a shop minimum of $100. Depending on the image, it may need to be a touch larger than you have in mind. Getting a tattoo the appropriate size is important to promise it's longevity. Please, feel free to give us a call or email the image to us so can further assist you. Thanks!
