I enjoyed this beautiful facility and the wonderful staff so much that I've been volunteering for the past couple of weekends. I'm really enjoying getting to know not only the staff but all the cats and dogs. The staff sincerely cares for these fur babies! I have no doubts there! Two of my favorite cats got adopted this weekend. It was amazing! I hate to see them go because you want to have that connection. In the end it's an indescribable feeling to get them adopted into a home! I can't rave enough! It is my honor to lend a hand in this wonderful cause.

Adopted 2 kittens on Thursday night. While on site, we had questioned some intermittent breathing issues but were assured that it was normal for kittens. However there were several kittens in quarantine for upper respiratory infections. This promoted me to question the breathing again but was assured that a vet had given these 2 a clean bill of health. Over the course of the same night they became worse and we had to take them to a vet first thing the following morning.. Diagnosis? Upper respiratory infection x2, fleas x2, and underweight x2. Obviously we covered these costs and helped to get the animals headed towards healthy. I reached out to the shelter that same afternoon and explained the situation. The response was basically 'sorry but..'. While there was an offer to refund the adoption fee of we wanted to bring them back, there was no acknowledgment that these kittens were clearly not in good health and no good faith lent to helping cover the costs to get them healthy, as they should have been upon adoption. Awaiting a conversation with the Director..
