I was one of the persons who previously rated our building department as one star. I am so happy to see an amazing improvement in customer service and staff attitude these days. I always think change starts at management level and I personally want to thank Shienne Holman-Rodriguez, our assistant Building official for her hard work in raising the standards of our building department customers service on daily basis.

Cant have 0 stars, so 1 star is the lowest. Worst building department in South Florida. Everytime I get a job in Hallandale that requires permits, I tell my customer its a minimum of 3 months, and 10 messages (never get a return phone call), and 6 answered phone calls to get a permit. The people are rude most of the time as well. You also have to call them all the time to ask them to do their job. I submitted my most recent permit Feb 3. I log in to the site and according to the site summary for my permit, it only shows Contractor has been validated passed. It doesnt show fees have been paid or permit issued or anything. After calling the 7th time since February (today is April 5) I am told the permit will be ready in 10 minutes......huh? March 3 I was told it is in pricing and takes 7 days for that. Over a month later its still not ready unless I call. I dont even think it will be ready in 10 minutes. EVERY 1 STAR REVIEW ON GOOGLE ABOUT THIS CITY IS COMPLETELY ACCURATE. STAY AWAY FROM HALLANDALE OR CONVINCE YOUR CUSTOMER NOT TO PULL PERMITS.

2022 need a new site for permitting..Can I add an attachment? Applied Sept 4 2021 Approve at Nov 11 Now Dec 1 and still pending pricing.. Closed on Friday..what I'll never do another job in this city.for a simple service peel already done 16 permits throughout other cities even Tampa area Hollywood , tamarac. Sunrise, deerfield, margate, pembroke pines....wowwwwwwwwww what the hell with the new implementation of their system and work load.... now DEC 9 STILL PENDING PRICING...I THINK CHANNEL 7 NEED TO BE CALLED OUT HERE..WOW...... THIS IS REDUCTION OF SERVICE DUE TO WHAT.T
